Headaches and heartbreaks

Today has been me hiding with a migraine. I peeked at social media to be surprised by a blast from the past. A young man who has been like a son to me shared this picture of me and my oldest son. My eldest is currently estranged because someone told him lies about me, and he believed them. So I have been heartbroken about it since thanksgiving… The picture was such a nice thing, even if he is not speaking to me. It reminded me of a time when he trusted me unconditionally.

This marks the last post in our author feature series for the upcoming Absurd Apocalypse anthology. Last, and mostly least, is CCP co-founder Charles Kelley. Kelley has two stories featured in the anthology, focusing on two very different apocalyptic situations.

A day for me to discuss music

Lyrics –

The houses around me
Are filled with people who panic
They hear the noise and the static
And then we all become frantic
We hear the omens and legends
We’re praising gold and our pleasures
We’re looking over our shoulders
Pretend we got it together
Draw the blinds
Check under your bed
Hide your gold
And hold your breath
Feel the ghost
In your chest
Check your pulse
You’re scared to death
Para paranoia
You know what’s coming for ya
Venom in your blood
And there’s no one here to warn ya
Para paranoia
You’ve been here before
Ya can lock up all your doors
But there’s a phantom in your foyer
Para paranoia
Para paranoia
Para paranoia
Controlled by the tension
That’s taking all our attention
To busy with expectations
We’re losing all our convictions
Draw the blinds
Check under your bed
Hide your gold
And hold your breath
Feel the ghost
In your chest
Check your pulse
You’re scared to death
Para paranoia
You know what’s coming for ya
Venom in your blood
And there’s no one here to warn ya
Para paranoia
You’ve been here before
Ya can lock up all your doors
But there’s a phantom in your foyer
Para paranoia
Para paranoia
Para paranoia
Draw the blinds
Check under your bed
Hide your gold
And hold your breath
Feel the ghost
In your chest
Check your pulse
You’re scared to death
Para paranoia
You know what’s coming for ya
Venom in your blood
And there’s no one here to warn ya
Para paranoia
You’ve been here before
Ya can lock up all your doors
But there’s a phantom in your foyer
Para paranoia
You know what’s coming for ya
Venom in your blood
And there’s no one here to warn ya
Para paranoia
You’ve been here before
Ya can lock up all your doors
But there’s a phantom in your foyer
Para paranoia

My 2 Cents-
I asked my daughter for a song for the week, and this was her suggestion. It is a fairly upbeat tune. I like the way the lyrics go. It is not a song I would normally go for admittedly. Still it is not a bad song in all.

books2read.com/BTtheprincesslost

What happens when the littlest princess in the land of Nod gets lost? A story of friendship, adventure, and surviving. This is a second edition release. Help us celebrate the release of Patricia Harris’s Bedtime Tales The Princess Lost. The images are sharpened and the layout cleaned up to give the reader a better book.

An Absurd Apocalypse Author Feature: Jonathan Degler

Something we’ve been excited to see with this second anthology is the mixture of familiar faces, along with fresh new voices. Last week, we announced another familiar face in the CCP world,Katheryn Schwarz.

This week is our last first-time CCP contributor, although we were fortunate enough to help him edit his amazing fantasy tale, Princess Olive, in 2019. Jonathan Degler has been a friend and mentor in our writing endeavors, and we’re elated to be able to include a story from him in our upcoming second anthology.

A day for me to discuss music

Lyrics:
I let myself fall into a lie
I let my walls come down
I let myself smile and feel alive
I let my walls come down
No matter how I try I don’t know why
You push so far away
You wrapped your hands tight around my heart
And squeezed it full of pain
With this knife I’ll cut out the part of me
The part that cares for you
With this knife I’ll cut out the heart of me
The heart that cares for you
I can’t believe the way you took me down
I never saw the pain
Coming in a million broken miles
Like poison in my veins
With this knife I’ll cut out the part of me
The part that cares for you
With this knife I’ll cut out the heart of me
The heart that cares for you
The hate and the fear
The nightmares that wake me up
In the tears
The nightmares and (the hate)…

My 2 Cents:
This song gets a bad rap I think. so many see it as emo. It is expressive and poetic. It feels like a song that I can relate to. sometimes that idea of taking a knife and cutting out the heart that wants to hang onto a toxic love…is strong.
