Creative commonality

When prowling through the interwebs and the dark reaches of social media, I have noticed something. Artists, authors, and other creatives all have certain traits.

1.) Self Doubt – Finding true confidence in any creative seems to be rare. Now I am not talking about the bravado that many of us put forth. That image of confidence that we want the world to see. Nope, I am talking about true confidence. That feeling that we are worthy, that we are enough.

2.) High Intelligence and Empathy – though there is a variance… I have seen those who are naturally creative as often being likely to be both highly intelligent and highly empathetic.

3.) Needs validity – Imposter syndrome is so common. That fear of failure. The fear of not being as good as others. So we seek the praise of those viewing the work we do.

4.) Searching – creative…

Author Spotlight – Paul Lubaczewski

FaeCorpsPub's avatarFae Corps Publishing

Today’s author spotlight is Paul Lubaczewski. He dabbles in Horror, Horror-Comedy,   Sci-Fi, Fantasy and writes mostly short stories and novels.

When we asked him how long he’s been writing, he had this to say: “Fiction about 4 years now. I was a reviewer before that, and wrote poetry and lyrics before that.” We also asked him why he started and he said because of his daughter Nik’s wedding. He wanted her to have something she could show people.

He is published and he chose to become an indie author because he didn’t know if it was a decision as much as something that just happened. Agents are harder to deal with and get answers from than publishers a lot of the time, so he just started querying indie presses instead.

He resides in Appalachia and has three cats: the Brothers Meow Charlie Sheen and Abaddon and there is also Elsa…

Winter Whimsy by Serena Mossgraves

FaeCorpsPub's avatarFae Corps Publishing

Ever wonder where snowflakes come from? The faeries have a history for all of the first events, even the first snowflake. History has a mischevious little frost faery making much of what is now winter standard.
She was created from the ice that ran down the mountainside. No other was like her, as winter was quite the desolate time. Dreary cold and ice had everyone else just hiding inside. She was named Snow after the mountain ice she came from. Oh the mountain snow was beautiful, just didn’t have the individuality we know today. The faery was gorgeous, tiny with skin like porcelin, eyes of the clearest blue. She was stunning to behold.
Snow was unlike any of her kind who had been made before. Most frost faerys were cold in nature, purposeful and driven to do what frost does…Snow was not. She was whimsical, and enjoyed fun things. She…

This is Thursday

Thursday is my weird day. I have found the groove on every other weekday. So every Thursday I sit here staring at the app on my phone and I wonder what to post. I look through the blogs I follow hoping for a clue… Throwback Thursday…. Hmmm. It would be easy… Just post old pictures… Nah man that is not really fair to the ones that actually do read the blog… Though I may be doing that on patreon today. Posting old art.

I saw one blog this time doing a pay it forward thing. That could be cool… But I have no idea what to do with that.

I am struggling with this because I want something that both is interesting to read(and write) and something that I am likely to engage y’all with. So far I am liking the way Tuesday tunes are working. Monday poetry always seems to be a good thing. And wordless Wednesday is good. Friday prompts and writing tips seems to work. So what the heck do I do with Thursday? Tea party works… But I don’t always have conversation for the tea. A good tea party needs a conversation don’t you think? So talk to me. Tell me what topics you would like me to cover at my tea party. Next week I will do a tea party with recommendations for a good tea and a topic of conversation hopefully suggested by y’all.

Teaser Time
