Poetry – A day Late

One last week of Chaos

Last week I gave you excuses and the slow dripping of art and poetry for the week. This week I scheduled at the same time…mostly because I don’t believe I am going to have the wherewithal to do better this week. I will try to do better in April. I do want to point out that the poetry I shared was from stuff I have yet to put on pretty graphics. I did want you to see new stuff, but the energy levels I have been keeping as the stress levels have been this high have been abysmal. I have been writing…and I will have some new graphics in April to share. (Those were in previous volumes and ones I had decided not to share originally.) This week I will be sharing some of the book covers I have designed that are still waiting for someone to want them. I will also share more art and poetry. Next week will, for good or ill, see this stress done. I will go back to my normal routine. Thank you again for your patience with me.

Excuses, and the stress Monster

I normally schedule my blog posts on Sunday for the week…and when I don’t I end up with the posts for the week not going up. I don’t intend it, it just happens that way. Well, the next two weeks are wrought with Stress due to an upcoming court situation. (My boyfriend has been trying to get his disability, and I am worried for him. It is not my court day but that often does not excuse the stress we feel when someone we care about is facing a major event.) So I cannot promise how well I will be doing until after the 30th. I am going to schedule this week today…or try to. I am having trouble with a stress headache today. So I thank you for your patience if I am less posty for the next two weeks. It is been much of the reason why March has been spotty. I have been writing and doing the work for Fae Corps to get the books out…but my poor blog has been too much to deal with sometimes. That is something I am trying to work on. I may end up just posting poetry and art this week instead of trying to keep my daily themes going.

The Holidays are in, and it has kicked me in the butt

So I haven’t been around. Not surprised if you noticed. There has been a lot of activity in my life. Changes that have caught me by the throat. I don’t plan on bleeding those changes all over my blog, it would just open wounds that are starting to close. However, I am going to still be on hiatus a short while longer. It started with a nasty bout of bronchitis and then some nasty emotional baggage. I am slowly unpacking the baggage and starting to put things away. I think I will give myself grace through the month of December and start 2022 fresh. I need this time to deal with the mess that I got myself into. This time of year often ends me up with an emotional downside that I have been at a loss to prevent.

For me that means I will continue to work on myself and the issues that have arisen in my life. For you it merely means I am asking for patience. January will see more poetry, art, and discussion of the foibles of life that my blog has come to present on a regular basis. I thank you for the patience and I wish you all the best of holidays.

A day for me to discuss music

{Verse 1}
Woke up late, car’s a mess
Spilled some coffee on my dress
Trying to pick out a song
Drove too fast, missed a stop
Somehow a Policeman saw
How am I gonna pay for that?

{Pre-Chorus}
I stayed up ’til 3 a.m last night
Watching Netflix on my phone ’cause
They cut off the power line
Drank up the rest of the box wine
Oh, I know it wasn’t smart
And I say this every time

{Chorus}
I can’t adult today at all
I wanna go right back to bed
And pretend I’m not feeling well
There’s nothing that I wanna say
But ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
I can’t adult today
I can’t adult today

{Verse 2}
Got to work, powered through
Headache started around 2
‘Cause I had to work through lunch
Finally, I finished up
Made it home and had enough
But I found a dog chewed couch

{Pre-Chorus}
I stayed up ’til 3 a.m last night
Watching Netflix on my phone ’cause
They cut off the power line
Drank up the rest of the box wine
Oh, I know it wasn’t smart
And I say this every time

{Chorus}
I can’t adult today at all
I wanna go right back to bed
And pretend I’m not feeling well
There’s nothing that I wanna say
But ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
I can’t adult today

{Bridge}
Just another cup of coffee
I can’t adult today
Just a little bit more money
I can’t adult today
10 alarms just to remind me
I can’t adult today
Tomorrow I will try again

{Chorus}
I can’t adult today at all
I wanna go right back to bed
And pretend I’m not feeling well
There’s nothing that I wanna say
But ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
I can’t adult today
I can’t adult today
I can’t adult today

My Two cents –
I am behind on my posts this week. It has been a really busy week for me – We had to get our lawn mower fixed and gather trash from the yard. Summer is ending but there are still summer chores to be done. So I spent Yesterday dealing with all of that. I spent Saturday dealing with a game and Sunday playing in a different one. So my normal work day – Sunday…well it got stolen. I will not post tomorrow but I have some upcoming announcements so I will be posting Thursday to tell yall all of what is coming soon. Man, Adulting is exhausting.

Blog Basics

I have been doing an Author spotlight for Fae Corps. It has given me the realization that some of the basics for blogging are not well known. We ask for a picture. Most of the time we don’t get it. We ask for a website…guess what? So it came to me that maybe I could help others by giving you what I have picked up in the time I have been running this blog.

  1. The first thing is that every entry should have a picture. The picture grabs the attention It gives a hook to your post.
  2. Make sure that you proofread your post. Typos do not encourage repeat readers.
  3. Try to keep a schedule. If possible at least four times a week, but if you cannot keep that then try for at least once a week.
  4. Think about what you would want to read. Try to keep from whining or complaining – no one wants to read that.
  5. Whenever possible include links. Example – My Books. Make it open in a new tab. you don’t want them to go off of your site completely.

Most of this is common sense. It really is hard to screw up blogging. However, some of it is also stuff you pick up. I started off treating my blog like a journal. It took me time. I also am terrible at keeping the schedule. Is the world gonna end if I fail to keep up? NO, but I may have a few readers who decide that I am not worth following. So I keep trying. If you are looking to get on as a spotlight on someone’s blog, or as a guest blogger, then I recommend trying to make sure that you provide them with as much information in what they ask for as possible. It makes it easier on them but it also makes you look good. That is the whole reason to do this, isn’t it?

A day for me to discuss music

Lyrics-

I’ve seen people go under
I’ve seen people move on
But the voices getting louder
Until there is none

They said I was special
They said I could fight it
I said it was painful
I told them I’ll lose it

I wanna be special
I wanna be you
But I don’t belong here
I see it in you

They said I was special
They said I could fight it
I said it was painful
I told them I’ll lose it

They said I was special
Yeah!

I’ve seen people in battle
I’ve seen people give up
But they’re all just like cattle
They don’t know when to stop

I thought they were special
I thought they all knew
But they are just assholes
They’re all just like you

I said it was painful
I told them I’ll lose it

If you’re coming back home tonight
I’ll be all long gone
I’ll be all long gone
[x2]

I thought it was easy
I’ll be all long gone
I’ll be all long gone
[x2]

My 2 Cents-
We all have those moments. where we feel left alone, like we are not as special. Each of us are individuals. It doesn’t always feel like it though. And to me this song speaks to that depression that gives us the mental gremlins telling us that we are not anything worth having. The gremlins lie.

A day for me to discuss music

Lyrics

Will you make it sound so pretty even when it’s not?
Didn’t choose but it’s the only one we’ve got
And sometimes I get so tired
Of getting tied up in my thoughts
You’re the only one that often makes it stop
God, it hurts to be human
Without you I’d be losing
And someday we’ll face the music
God, it hurts to be human
But I’ve got you, you, you, you, you, you, hey
And you’ve got me, me, me, me, too
Like we’re buckled and preparing before the crash
Like we’re walking down a road of broken glass
Now if we defeat all odds
And it was us against the world
You can count on me
You know I’d have your back
God, it hurts to be human
Without you I’d be losing
And someday we’ll face the music
God, it hurts to be human
But I’ve got you, you, you, you, you, you (Hey)
And you’ve got me, me, me, me, too
But I’ve got you, you, you, you, you, you (Hey)
And you’ve got me, me, me, me, too
Hope flows away
If you could spend a day in my shoes
Your mind would change
If you’d known what I’ve gone through
We want the same (Yeah, we do)
Maybe then you’ll understand
How it hurts to be human
God, it hurts to be human
Without you (without you) I’d be losing (Yeah, yeah, yeah)
And someday we’ll face the music
God, it hurts to be human
But I’ve got you, you, you, you, you, you, hey
And you’ve got me, me, me, me, too
But I’ve got you, you, you, you, you, you, hey
And you’ve got me, me, me, me, too
Oh God, it hurts to be human

MY 2Cents
This song speaks to me right now. There is no reason why I have been dragging ass and miserable this week. The cold came back, the laptop died, I have responsibilities that I usually enjoy…But this week… I just couldn’t stand to be human. I was snapping at people over stupid shit. And I know it was stupid. I have no reason or explanation. Just cranky. And I can’t explain it better that this week felt that I was struggling in the fight to be happy…and I was loosing. So for those that have me, and wondered what the heck was my damage…I thank you. I love you all. Thank you for tolerating my bad week.

Changes ahead

The last two years have been so busy. And I am finding it hard to keep up. When I started with Coffee house writer’s I was easily able to keep up with the schedule I was on. But I have since started doing more here and with Fae Corps. We are doing more in Fae Corps. I am floundering under the weight of the responsibility… So I have made a decision. I am leaving Chw for now. I have already told my wonderful editor. There will be one more post next Monday. Then… I think that I will try to post here more. I am hoping that releasing one responsibility will ease the burden of the rest.

Lost Within by Fivefold

Lyrics

Crawl out of the hole you’re in
Who you are is not who you’ve been
Now’s the time to sink or swim
Will you fight the tide or get lost within
And I know you’re feeling low
Feel like you’ve lost control
But the darkness that you know
It’s not your home and you’re not alone
And all you’ve wanted was just so much more
This world has taken ahold
Don’t let ’em get your soul
The silence
You feel it cold as a winter storm
This world has taken ahold
Don’t let ’em get your soul
Iron bars are hell to break
Tell me now, do you know what’s at stake?
Your whole life in a blank stare haze
You walk around like the end of days
And I know you’re feeling low
Feel like you’ve lost control
But the darkness that you know
It’s not your home and you’re not alone
And all you’ve wanted was just so much more
This world has taken ahold
Don’t let ’em get your soul
The silence
You feel it cold as a winter storm
This world has taken ahold
Don’t let ’em get your soul
I’m callin’ out to you
Can you hear me?
They can’t break you down
Let you hit the ground
I promise you it won’t be long (Won’t be long)
You’re feeling overwhelmed here
Drowned by the pain and the fear
The sun will come with the dawn
All you’ve wanted was just so much more
This world has taken ahold
Don’t let ’em get your soul
The silence
You feel it cold as a winter storm
This world has taken ahold
Don’t let ’em get your soul…
Get your soul…

My 2Cents –
Though this song sounds like it is about being depressed, And it most certainly is, I feel like it is about picking yourself back up when you are depressed. I have been here, and it feels impossible. then it doesn’t. Somehow you just survive, and you don’t know how you did it. but you did.
