Straight talk Tuesday

Creative. I have my tools that I can work with. With words, technology, paint, Resin, beads, and wire I create. Well a few other things, but those are my main mediums. It came to mind because there are some other mediums I would love to try.

I shared a post that I saw on Facebook asking people to describe me in one word. I was not surprised that creative came up. Not even surprised that it was first. Then I was browsing what I call craft porn on YouTube. I like the videos of people making stuff. I usually go for stuff that with the right tools I could make… Then there is the glassblowing vids. They are addictive… Not because I think I can do it…. But because they are so freaking talented in a media I don’t ever see myself trying.

So it appears that I have limits to my creativity. I still want to explore clay, even to the point of a pottery wheel. I want to play with polymer Clay. And perler beads. Maybe some needle felting (though I have my doubts that I will enjoy it). Wood and metal working… So much of the ones I want to try require tools, or the medium itself is expensive.

I think that creating for the sake of creating is never a bad thing. So what medium do you use?

Ok….I realize that I just dropped away last week and failed to update this blog. I am truly sorry. I missed Wednesday on. I  had a tooth extracted and have been struggling to get back on things since. I am hoping next week I can get back on track. Thank you for understanding….also I will be adding a widget  to my posts to allow you to keep up with my progress on my writing. today I am only including Serena’s Next book, but Monday I hope to include shoe mountain and Spilled verse.

Teaser Tuesday

The holidays have me busy… Add in some sort of stomach bug…. So I only have a single teaser for you today.

Thursday reviews

Emily’s book of the Strange by Rob Reger

This is wonderfully illustrated. It’s a cute little goth story based upon the illustration. I truly enjoyed it.

I wanted to note that I set up the Monday poetry post to schedule and thought that it posted. Apparently the scheduling of posts are not working right for my WordPress. It may cause some hiccups in my timeline. I hope to continue with the posts during the week. Just a reminder I will not be posting next week due to the holiday. I will be back the Monday after Thanksgiving with more poetry. And I will be doing another post on world building tomorrow.

Webcomic? Wednesday

Well I said that I will be using this day for fandoms of all sorts. I am all over the place as far as what I geek over. My love of comics all started with xmen. I am fond of damaged heroes. It allows for hope that anyone can be a hero, not just the perfect folk.

I grew up with comic books, and the television bringing them to life. Not that I ever needed it, the books and their amazing stories were more than enough for my fertile imagination. And I was not alone.

I like to think that people like Stan Lee are where geek culture started. I am so grateful to have been able to see the stories, and I hope to see many more.

Ok I know that today was supposed to be teaser Tuesday. Only problem is that I have been sick for three days… That stupid weather change sniffles thing. I have been trying to keep up with everything but Serena’s nano novel has suffered. We are passed the 10k mark… But then it kinda got back burner treatment because of the sick. I refuse to post the same teasers. I respect you too much for that. I do have the rest of the week. And Teaser Tuesday may not be a every week thing. I will attempt to at least update you on how the writing is going, even if I can’t do a teaser. On that note, Spilled verse is coming along. I already have six or seven poems out of the seventy needed(all of the volumes I publish have at least seventy poems).

All of the links are listed on my post Links updated. I post them every so often as to bump them up on my blog.

Thanksgiving week I will not be posting. Family time, not internet time and all of that. Hopefully you all have a miraculous holiday.

Oh and be sure to check out my second world building post on Friday.

The death of a hero

There was no poem for Monday as I was too sad to write. Stan Lee’s passing was monumental. Yes I know that he was old. Somehow though he was one of those people who seem immortal. So I will try to do the poem prompt for today as well as tomorrow’s then. For tonight… The world is just too sad. So I am going to bed hoping that Mr. Lee is greeted on the other side like the hero he was.

Webcomics Wednesday

I have been letting this slide slightly. Too much this month to keep up on my pursuit to update my favorite webcomics… Current I am up to date on Questionable Content, Goblins, and Geekasaurus. I am working on getting up to date on Looking for group. So many great webcomics and I will eventually get back to having a list worth reading.

Ok… Now for the other part of webcomic Wednesday. Fandoms… I am all over the place in my fandoms. Naming the different ones that I enjoy would take forever. I have been trying recently to convince my teen daughter that being into kids stuff in a fandom way is okay. She is into monster high and was afraid that it was too childish. (Personally I love Cleo and Ghoulia.) So I present you a question… What is your favorite fandom and why?

Day five

poem a day challenge

Prompt a private poem.

This one is a bit of a thing for me. I don’t believe in secrets. I am a survivor of childhood sexual abuse. The word secret carries some tough pain with it. Please if it has to be a secret, don’t do it…
