Shrieking skulls will shock your soul
Seal your doom tonight

Speak with such a screech
You’ll shake and shudder in surprise
When you hear these zombies shriek
We’re sorry skeletons, you’re so misunderstood
You only want to socialize, but I don’t think we should

Shout startling, shrilly screams
They’ll sneak from their sarcophagus
And just won’t leave you be
Spirits supernatural are shy what’s all the fuss?
But bags of bones seem so unsafe, it’s semi-serious

Are silly all the same

My Wings

my wings were clipped
before I had grown
strong enough to fly…
so I crashed as they said I would
crawling upon the ground
trying to reach home once more …
I had to recreate my wings
from the bones of the soul
they burned within.

Thursday Thoughts
Can I please go back to avoiding the news?
Serena’s poem this week came from a news story about a child being drowned by their own parent. it’s not an uncommon story…but I’m getting tired and old. I have never been able to understand what drives a parent to kill their kids. I don’t understand why parents abuse their own child either. I have had some issues where I have made mistakes but I am not talking about that. I am talking about the ones that purposely hurt the kids. I don’t understand why.
Innocence is not a reason to hurt. If you can’t handle kids don’t have any. Some people just should not be parents.
