Remember that I said that I would be posting my favorite poems this month? The first few days will be from Emily Dickinson. I have always loved her verse. She spoke to my heart as a teen, and nostalgia keeps her as one of my favorite poets. 💜

Tea party Tuesday.

Well… I had a guest blogger planned. Due to illness, that fell through. So I was thinking about what to do today… And I realized that every great party has music. My own music tastes are all over the place. I love classical, rock, country and pop. I enjoy the smooth jazz, r&b, and hip-hop. Give me a good blues or some bluegrass. Metal and the soft japanese drums. Yeah, i just love music.

So what is your favorite songs? Post me a link! I may pick one of the links to send a handwritten copy of a poem to.

Webcomic? Wednesday

Well I said that I will be using this day for fandoms of all sorts. I am all over the place as far as what I geek over. My love of comics all started with xmen. I am fond of damaged heroes. It allows for hope that anyone can be a hero, not just the perfect folk.

I grew up with comic books, and the television bringing them to life. Not that I ever needed it, the books and their amazing stories were more than enough for my fertile imagination. And I was not alone.

I like to think that people like Stan Lee are where geek culture started. I am so grateful to have been able to see the stories, and I hope to see many more.

The death of a hero

There was no poem for Monday as I was too sad to write. Stan Lee’s passing was monumental. Yes I know that he was old. Somehow though he was one of those people who seem immortal. So I will try to do the poem prompt for today as well as tomorrow’s then. For tonight… The world is just too sad. So I am going to bed hoping that Mr. Lee is greeted on the other side like the hero he was.

Webcomics Wednesday

I have been letting this slide slightly. Too much this month to keep up on my pursuit to update my favorite webcomics… Current I am up to date on Questionable Content, Goblins, and Geekasaurus. I am working on getting up to date on Looking for group. So many great webcomics and I will eventually get back to having a list worth reading.

Ok… Now for the other part of webcomic Wednesday. Fandoms… I am all over the place in my fandoms. Naming the different ones that I enjoy would take forever. I have been trying recently to convince my teen daughter that being into kids stuff in a fandom way is okay. She is into monster high and was afraid that it was too childish. (Personally I love Cleo and Ghoulia.) So I present you a question… What is your favorite fandom and why?

Scheduled hopes.

So… In the past I have been awful about updating this blog. I am hoping that if I do a bit of a schedule it may help. So I decided to post my plan… Please be patient with me as I may still lapse.

Monday : poems. That will be the day when I share any poetry that I feel like sharing.

Tuesday : teasers. I have a children’s chapter book that I am working on currently, and Serena has her second book in her zombie apocalypse series. This is when I will be sharing teasers and updates on the work we are doing.

Wednesday : webcomics! This is going to be where I discuss webcomics and perhaps other fandoms.

Thursday : Reviews. Both tech and books. I am a geek who reads a lot. I really need to start doing a review segment on here.

Friday : writing helpers. This is where I will be talking about the technical difficulties that come with writing.

I am not scheduling weekends. And I may end up posting random other than the schedule… Cause life. You get it, I am quite sure. Also I may be less accurate to the schedule in November. I am doing the pad challenge and Serena is doing Nanowrimo. So I don’t know how much extra time for blogging I will have. But I will be posting. Just figure it will be less than I am hoping for.

What is webcomics?

Well webcomics are amazing comics that have been posted on the web. It really is that simple.  Years ago I was following nearly two hundred separate comics.  Then I lost access to a computer,  and mobile phones were too hard to read on .

Some have ended. I am still sorting through my links. I am current on two… Working on a  third.
