I decided I did not feel like doing the Tuesday tunes this week. Instead I have questions.
1. Why is it that writers of prose are expected to write daily… but poets are called prolific if they do?
2. Why do some people seem to be afraid to try to write poetry?
3. Why do so many people believe that writing prose is easier when there’re far more rules to prose than poetry?
4. which one do you want to write or read?

1 – I think a couple of attitudes/beliefs go into that. Prose writing is seen a work, and therefore it’s writers as professionals, while poetry writing is seen as a sort of hobby based on special inspiration, or some special sensitivity.
2 – Poetry is taught as difficult to understand and do, esoteric, mysterious, even divinely inspired.
3 – People seem to think that when they speak they are doing prose, and writing prose is just speaking on paper or screen. They don’t realize that the most eloquent and powerful speeches are poetry.
