okay Tomorrow is Valentines day.
The history is interesting, but I have issues with the implementation.
Dates don’t have to be expensive. the best dates I have had were sitting down by the creek and talking.
the pressure to buying gifts for each other is really uncomfortable.
I enjoy buying gifts and getting gifts without the strings attached.
I would rather capitalism not control my life.

Giving, should only come from the heart, and if you feel like it’s an, obligation, then, it isn’t, worth it!

When I was working in mental health crisis response I came to know Valentine’s Day as one of the busy times, between the lonely and the disappointed with no card, no date, no gift, or the “wrong” gift. Loving and gifting from love don’t need, and may not benefit from having just one special (and profitable) day.
