Ars Poetica November 27

Ars Poetica November 27
Poetry
Give me the pen
My brain is alight,
It is time for me
to write poetry tonight.

Perhaps I should pause
for the verse speaks
volumes and more,
but I think it solves
the internal war.

Poetry

The End

By Patricia Harris

Is once the word is spoken

at the end of it’s life,

nothing further for it to know?

or is the verse just beginning

and the speech the start

of all it will know?

Either way I feel like
the word spoken in verse
will catch something more than
interest and ignite a new thirst.

Soul

By Patricia Harris

Perhaps I am mistaken

In belief that a soul is not meant

to be trampled upon.

I think that too many are thinking

of the wrong spelling of the word.

The sole of our feet are for

walking upon, Nothing within

the soul of a man

is meant to be trod upon.

*sorry I am running late.

Ars Poetica Day 4

Each verse is bled
Straight from heart
To page…

The poem is
Emotional waves
Solidified.

Ars Poetica Poem one

The urge to pull the pen
to bleed upon the page
is something that seems
to be unwilling to fade…

I thought poetry would be
a passing phase,
something that I would grow
out of as I would age.

Instead, I have found myself
drawn deeper in,
bleeding more verse
than I wanted to in the end.

Poetry and Interpretations

As many of you know I try to use Serena for my more gothic pieces. I posted the above in a poetry group on Facebook. A private one as I was not ready to share it. In my mind it spoke of finding reasons to live…Facebook flagged it as speaking about suicide or self harm.

I have had my poetry with Serena misunderstood before.

This one I wrote about the Dahlia Murders…and I was promptly told I was writing about the female anatomy.

I am saddened by the removal because I would have loved to have the other poets feedback…but I guess that was Facebook telling me I wrote something worth censoring.
