Cigarettes and alcohol I could smell you down the hall And know which one of you that I would get Pictures of us on the wall Fist mark from the last close call Couple hundred second chances left
You broke me down and stole my innocence You said I’d never get out but I did
You hate that you can’t control me You say that you wanna hold me You hate that I know the real you Hollow, shallow, see through You hate that I took the power It makes you feel like a coward You say that you’re gonna save me But you fucking hate me
Use me up just like a drug Held me down and called it love I thought that I had so much to lose Another fight, another fuck Another never good enough You hate me ’cause I’m better without you Without you
You hate that you can’t control me You say that you wanna hold me You hate that I know the real you Hollow, shallow, see through You hate that I took the power It makes you feel like a coward You say that you’re gonna save me But you fucking hate me
But you fucking hate me Oh
You broke me down and stole my innocence You said I’d never get out but I did, I did
You hate that you can’t control me You say that you wanna hold me You hate that I know the real you Hollow, shallow, see through You hate that I took the power It makes you feel like a coward You say that you’re gonna save me But you fucking hate me
My 2 cents –
This has been my earworm lately. it is a powerful song.
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo: A Lisbeth Salander Novel By Stieg Larsson
ONE OF TIME MAGAZINE’S 100 BEST MYSTERY AND THRILLER BOOKS OF ALL TIME #1 NATIONAL BESTSELLER The thrilling first book in the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series featuring Lisbeth Salander: “Combine the chilly Swedish backdrop and moody psychodrama of a Bergman movie with the grisly pyrotechnics of a serial-killer thriller, then add an angry punk heroine and a down-on-his-luck investigative journalist, and you have the ingredients of Stieg Larsson’s first novel” (The New York Times). Also known as the Millennium series
Harriet Vanger, a scion of one of Sweden’s wealthiest families disappeared over forty years ago. All these years later, her aged uncle continues to seek the truth. He hires Mikael Blomkvist, a crusading journalist recently trapped by a libel conviction, to investigate. He is aided by the pierced and tattooed punk prodigy Lisbeth Salander. Together they tap into a vein of unfathomable iniquity and astonishing corruption.
My Thoughts
I have the first three books in this series. I did not realize there was more or I would have all eight. The characters are crisp and delightful The plot is strong. I really enjoyed all three books I have read so far.
This is my work in progress list… and how I keep track of my word count.
As can be seen this week was a busy writing week. I think I got poems in almost all the open volumes. I got word counts in a couple of places. I also looked into hiring a developmental editor (Partners in Crime book services) for Kingdoms of Sin. Mostly because I would love to see it released next year. This week should be the usual posts.
