Occasionally I will too.

Artsy Fartsy Thursday

Something I call meditation Art… basically I draw circles and lines and swirls in what ever way I feel like at the time… until I feel like I am done. It’s relaxing.

Progress on Poetry

Xactly Poetic is currently up to 32/70 poems

Queer Verbage is up to 24/70 poems

On my way home is up to 25/70

Fighting Ignorance is up to 22/70

Dream Drips is at 5/70

Serena’s Blood Red Rain is at 30/70

As you can see… I am making progress… but I’m not sure if I am going to be done with any of them soon… that being said… I am setting a September release date tentatively for Xactly Poetic. I think that I can do that deadline. I say tentatively as I don’t have it finished and I don’t want to promise something that I can’t do.

It feels so strange to me to have so many volumes in progress. But many of them have a theme… which means that I am limited to what goes into them.

Xactly Poetic is all about the form. I am a free verse poet – so writing to the form is a challenge for me and my writing skills.

Queer Verbage is all about being a non-binary pansexual and the rainbow magic in my life.

On my way home is not themed, really…but like many of my volumes it is picking up a slight theme of the journey and what home is to me. Though I am not doing it on purpose.

Fighting ignorance is political poetry… and my opinions there are strong.

Dream Drips is about addiction.

And of course Serena is dark poetry.

Gnomishly artistic

Well I promised I would try to share more of the art and poetry this month even though I was not able to do a daily post… so here’s a happy Gnomey…

Wild Wednesday

Ever think that you were caught up, and then realized that you had forgotten about something important? That was me this past week. I have done all the work for July and publishing… and I thought I had done June as well… only to find out that I had forgotten about June.

Though I was frustrated and feeling like I was a screw up… it was not the end of the world. It was not even a truly terrible thing. It was just a little bit of a frustration. I got it fixed (though my own poetry volume in June immortality is only in ebook form until the 20th.) A minor oops. Still at the time…it felt like I was just incapable of doing anything right.

And it is not an uncommon thing for such situations to cause a lot of people to feel like they can’t do anything right. The internal voice is often so mean.

Don’t let that voice make you feel like you are anything less than amazing. I’m fighting with my own.

Tuesday Tunes

A day for me to discuss music

Lyrics

Send your kisses my way
Bring your sweet heart to me
I’ve been waiting for so long
Tell me all your stories
Leave some open for me
Write your name into this song
I walk through the fire
Run through the rain
I’ll wait for forever
If love is your name
Catch your wind from heaven
Send them while you’re sleeping
Wake me with the morning sun
I’ll dream of you until you come
I walk through the fire
Run through the rain
I’ll wait for forever
If love is your name
Valentines keep knocking
My heart keeps on walking
Darling I’ll hold on for you
For You, for you
I’ll walk through the fire
I’ll run through the rain
I’ll wait for forever
If love is your name
If love is your name
If love is your name

My 2 Cents –

So, last week I shared Dolly doing a Rock song. It brought up a conversation with a friend about how genre limits were not really a thing anymore because Steven Tyler did country and Dolly was doing Rock. My view has always been that limiting your mind based on genre is not a good idea. Why should we limit ourselves and the enjoyment that music brings? I do enjoy this song as well. Steven Tyler has been an amazing voice through most of my life.(My childhood was limited to country music as my mom did not like rock. I was a teenager before I got to hear anything but country or bluegrass music)

Monday Poetry

It has been a while since I posted Serena’s poetry… so here’s 2 from her current Wip.

Fun new toy

My sister just brought me a new toy for my art. This is going to take me a few days to get it hooked up to play with. (Especially when I have my computer in a state of disarray) Still I am so excited and wanted to share this news with y’all.

The Child Inside

touching poem.

V. Ananya's avatarAnanya's Scribbles Corner

You’ve been inside me for a few months now,
Growing, developing, moving,
I can only see you on a hospital screen –
And so, even when I don’t like it much,
I go there anyway, just for a chance to see you
Again and again.

When we first found out about your existence,
I was expecting it, but –
Oh, you should’ve seen your father’s face –
What a picture it was!
The only regret I had after that day
Was that I didn’t think to take a photo to show you
When you were all grown up –
I’m sure you’d laugh and laugh,
Till you could no more!

Ever since then, you’ve been inside of me,
Growing, developing –
From a tiny seed to an almost full-grown baby –
I’ve seen every one of it.

But it was when you started moving inside me
That the real joy…
