So…WordPress is complaining about space. I need to find a way to deal with Monday poetry without uploading more in the already full space…or I will have to change Monday a wee bit.
I want to do this without having to remove the previous uploaded posts. I will have to see what I have to do.
My boyfriend and I have been together for nearly all our adult lives…but we are not the romantic sort. He is my best friend.
His sister writes such lovely romantic poems.
I am trying to talk her into publishing them.
But for the poet who writes gothic poems or poems about nature more than love poems…today is an extra stress.
For poets write about love and romance, right?
I just want to say it is okay to be alone. I am nonbinary with Acesexual tendencies. Romance is not something that interests me…so why would I write about it?
Just because today is a commercialized romantic hell…You are okay even if you have not found that person yet. You are okay even if you never do.
Someone asked me in a vague way about inspiration and why I chose the genre I did…
I don’t think I chose it.
let me explain. I write what is comfortable. For me that often is prose with a poetic bent. I am by my nature Goth and pagan… energy that follows me in my work. I am a gamer. that also follows me into my work. I am a parent. again it follows me. I think it’s just something we write what we know.
That is why you can’t write the same story I can. Even if you write the same topic. your life experience and your voice is going to be drastically different from mine.
So write it, that story buried in the back of your head…. I promise it is something that no one else has done.
Back in the early oughts I was so into Ultima Online that I learned how to code in C# just to be able to make a server to play with.
My friend group, though small, have a small selection of games that we cycle through that are multi player. This includes Conan Exiles, 7 days to die, Green Hell, project Zomboid, palworld, valheim, raft, subsistence, Stardew valley, and red dead redemption 2 online.
Of the ones that I listed… Palworld is the newest one and the one that I am most likely to be on a solo run with.
I used to love 7 days… the developers really ruined it. It looks great but they keep taking the game and wiping their backsides with it then when the fans try to make suggestions they are asinine to them. It makes it less fun.
Project Zomboid is complicated. 3rd person view and I keep dying.
Raft is fun. but I don’t like having the shark attacks on.
Conan Exiles rocks. Over all good multi player game.
Valheim… I don’t like the building mechanics in this game.
Green Hell is better now. The first time we tried to do multi player there was invisible natives and I kept dying.
Stardew valley is Farmville on crack. Lol
Rdr 2 I am struggling with this one. Not good at stealth. Not good at shooting.
Palworld is basically a pokemon clone with a better story.
My Daughter introduced me to a new anime. Ascendence of a Bookworm.
The lead character is a fragile little girl who is in love with books. It’s an isekai. She is reincarnated from Japan. Into a world where books are rare.
So since she can’t have books, she is determined to make her own.
The story is amazing and apparently there’s manga… so now I’m craving the manga.
We only got it because the price was right. And we needed a vehicle that could hold the 3 of us.
But…
Still. It is a VW bug.
I’m a little bit giddy. It is seriously my dream car.
The bulbs for the low beams need replaced. There’s a crack in the windshield. The glovebox handle needs replaced. The door handle on the driver side needs replaced. The driver’s window sticks. The car is in serious need of cleaning. The exhaust needs replaced. It needs an oil change and a tune up.
We paid a thousand for it.
We are going to probably be a couple of months before we can afford to get it All repaired (as we have to pay the loan off we borrowed to buy it to begin with first.) But we own it.
Picture is from the ad- I have not been able to get some of it in person yet.
Of course, since I can’t afford to do anything else… I have been window shopping on Amazon for fun accessories for my new car. What do you do when you are excited for something and can’t do anything with it?
Yesterday I shared a song that takes a traditional Christmas song and adjusted it for pagans.
There’s a lot of people who would be angry about it.
But to me… songs are a different type of poetry – one that I am not very good at. I have written millions of poems and only one song.
I admire music, a lot. It has gotten me through some of the worst things in my life.
And I have a song that I associate with every heartbreak I have suffered.
So, I see somgs such as that the same way I do someone doing a rework of an old poem. As long as the original is attributed – or made obvious….why does it matter if someone has taken a different view?
In more ways than just the overall scope of things.
Families gather because of tradition.
If you google the tradition of Christmas trees you find – The first records of Christmas trees being cut for display comes from the 1820s in Pennsylvania’s German community, although trees may have been a tradition there even earlier.
In my house we get certain gifts every year because it is traditional. A box of Christmas Crunch, a bag of Andes mints, A thing of Sparkling Cider, and some Hot Chocolate.
We stretched out the holiday by letting our daughter open one present a day until Yule in December. (That meant she got 21 presents at least although we really did not do stockings and such.)
We did a lot of homemade gifts. Which focused on time spent together. We still do. Jams, and Jellies are likely to be a favorite this year.
What are your traditions? If you celebrate a different holiday please don’t hesitate to tell me your holiday traditions. I honestly want to know. This is not a place of judgement. This is a time when sharing knowledge makes us all wiser.
So as of today I have been posting 95 days in a row.
That matters because tomorrow is the last Pad challenge Day. And the last Daily thing I had planned. At least until April.
I am going to be doing the pad challenge again in April.
And I am going to be doing the Mermay art challenge.
There’s an art challenge for June, but I have yet to decide if I should do it…
This is going to be a busy year for publishing for me.
Single Author books we have scheduled through August already. There’s a lot of stuff coming. Currently scheduled for eight separate books with a few more possible.
And Fae Corps Publishing is doing 3 anthologies this year. Okay I am doing 2 calls and a special Anthology for the Owl Light Network. We all know that the calls can end up being 2 or 3 anthologies by the end.
And I am still working on writing and reading and living in the meantime.
So I am going back to the normal schedule for the week starting next week. Just thought I would give you a heads up.
