The Junkyard Zombie 

They are definitely not your average family. They live in a junkyard. And they are a big family. But when the dead walk, well, they handle it. Survive first. Figure out why later.

Meet Chris Robinson, former marine special forces, and his family. Shara, his 13 year old daughter. Amara, his wife. Tara, former navy seal, and Lizzie, scientist, his younger sisters. The rest of the family are there but as the dead start to get their rotting asses back up, how many will remain?

Will they be able to figure out the why? And what caused the dead to walk???

I am who I am,  no apologies 

I am a good many things.  Some are great.  Some are still needing my attention.  And some…. Eh well.  Some of me will always be bad. At least for other people. I am not going to apologize for who I am.  I am a survivor.  It has made me cautious and strange. 

      I have been molested,  gang-raped, abused both physically and emotionally.  I have faced down a gun held by a man I was sure wanted me dead.  I have survived being locked in the trunk of a car,  and being convinced that I would die there.  I have survived living with no running water.  Impoverished,  with no way of fixing it. 

        I have survived the loss of many people who I have loved,  some merely because they couldn’t understand what I have become.  

And like the poem from Maya Angelou…. Still I rise. 

I am becoming more with each day.  

I am not going to allow myself to falter. 

Today I am better than yesterday, 

And still I rise. 

Tomorrow I will be more than I am today, 

And still I rise. 

To those watching to see me fail, 

Be ready for me to see 

Me fly.

An introduction to the castle on the Island of Truth

              The castle has been there for two millennia,  home to beauty and tragedy. Most of it’s history has been revealed,  or so it is believed. Built of solid stone,  blood and sweat.  Dreams of happiness hide in the darkened corners inhabited by the ghosts of the castles grisly history.  
                     Lovingly restored before it drove it’s owner insane.  Now,  a group of ghost hunters seek to explore the castle and discover the secrets that lie within.  Five go in,  how many will survive?  And will they have their sanity in the end?

Blog Hyginks

So yesterday I was a busy blogger.  I really should be more regular in my posts…. But I am not good at regular. Now that I have the app on my phone it is more likely.  I am a creature of convenience. I try to improve my actions,  I try to get into the habits that I want to have. Still routine is not easy for me.  My life is very chaotic. I warned you with the tagline… Lol.  Crazy rarely is predictable.  Still,  when trying to deal with a blog,  and selling what I wrote,  I am aware that if there is no updates then I will have no readers.  So I will attempt to do better.  If nothing else,  I will try to share some of the awesome blogs that I read.

Meet Serena Mossgraves

So I decided that I needed a pen name.  I am a poet and a children’s author.  The last few stories I have felt inappropriate for children.  So I decided that I might want a adult name for the tales that do not fit.  Now being as I struggle with doing the blog at all…. I really don’t want to separate the blog for both names.  I plan instead to note which of the two is the author if I speak of my writing. Thank you for understanding.I am hoping to update this blog a bit more often now as my phone has the app.

One of the things I like to do in my leisure time is to brows some very interesting online literary magazines as it helps in my inspiration but I also like to be informed about the newest trends in literature and writing styles.

As a result of my research I managed to compile a list of 9 magazines that pretty much on regular basis accept submissions for new poems and prose, and of course you might find some of them interesting in your publication process.

So here it is:

1.Hootreview. This is maybe one of my favorite. They focus on a micropoetry and microfiction, giving a real chance to aspiring writers.

2.32poems. They accept unsolicited poetry year round and also simultaneous submissions. As a rule, preference is given to shorter poems that fit on a single page (about 32 lines). For more visit their guidelines page.
