A day for me to discuss music

Lyrics

Another love taken to the grave
Another one goes right down the drain
I keep making all the same mistakes
Running out of reasons I can blame

Thought I had a heart of gold
Everything I touch turns to stone
Is it my fault I always end up alone?

Maybe I’m just difficult
Maybe I’m impossible
Maybe I’m just one step over the edge
You’re one foot out the door

Maybe I’m emotional
Too much to handle or
Maybe I’m unlovable

Is there anyone left to believe?
Is there any good still left in me?
I keep slipping further underneath
I just want a love that never leaves

Thought I had a heart of gold
Everything I touch turns to stone
Is it my fault I always end up alone?

Well, maybe I’m just difficult
Maybe I’m impossible
Maybe I’m just one step over the edge
You’re one foot out the door

Maybe I’m emotional
Too much to handle
Maybe I’m unlovable
Unlovable

Maybe I’m just difficult
Maybe I’m impossible
Maybe I’m just one step over the edge
You’re one foot out the door

Maybe I’m emotional
Too much to handle oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh
Maybe I’m unlovable
Unlovable

Maybe I’m unlovable

My 2 Cents –

It’s freaking valentine’s day…yeah I am leaving this and leaving it alone. enjoy your day.

A day for me to discuss music

Lyrics

Mary Anne and Wanda were the best of friends
All through their high school days
Both members of the 4H club, both active in the FFA
After graduation
Mary Anne went out lookin’ for a bright new world
Wanda looked all around this town and all she found was Earl
Well, it wasn’t two weeks after she got married that
Wanda started gettin’ abused
She’d put on dark glasses and long sleeved blouses
And makeup to cover a bruise
Well, she finally got the nerve to file for divorce
She let the law take it from there
But Earl walked right through that restraining order
And put her in intensive care
Right away Mary Anne flew in from Atlanta
On a red eye midnight flight
She held Wanda’s hand and they worked out a plan
And it didn’t take ’em long to decide
That Earl had to die
Good bye, Earl
Those black-eyed peas
They tasted alright to me, Earl
You feelin’ weak?
Why don’t you lay down and sleep, Earl
Ain’t it dark wrapped up in that tarp, Earl
The cops came by to bring Earl in
They searched the house high and low
Then they tipped their hats and said, “Thank you ladies
If you hear from him let us know”
Well, the weeks went by and spring turned to summer
And summer faded into fall
And it turns out he was a missing person who nobody missed at all
So the girls bought some land at a roadside stand
Out on highway 109
They sell Tennessee ham and strawberry jam
And they don’t lose any sleep at night
‘Cause Earl had to die
Good bye, Earl
We need a break, let’s go out to the lake, Earl
We’ll pack a lunch, and stuff you in the trunk, Earl
Well, is that alright? Good! Let’s go for a ride, Earl, hey
Ooh hey hey hey
Ah hey hey hey
Well, hey hey hey

My 2 Cents –

Okay, Saturday was the 19th birthday for my youngest child. That means I am worn out and trying to get the blog done with no real energy. So, I went with another fun song. This one has been on my social media pages a lot lately.

A day for me to discuss music

Lyrics

Well, I see ’em every night in tight blue jeans
In the pages of a Blueboy magazine
Hey, hey, I’ve been thinking of a new sensation
I’m picking up good vibrations
Oop, she bop, she bop
Do I wanna go out with a lion’s roar?
Yeah, I wanna go south and get me some more
Hey, they say that a stitch in time saves nine
They say I better stop or I’ll go blind
Oop, she bop, she bop
She bop, he bop, we bop
I bop, you bop, they bop
Be bop, be bop, a lu bop
(I hope he will understand)
She bop, he bop, we bop
I bop, you bop, they bop
Be bop, be bop, a lu she bop
Oh, she do, she bop
Hey, hey they say I better get a chaperone
Because I can’t stop messin’ with the danger zone
Hey, hey I won’t worry, and I won’t fret
Ain’t no law against it yet
Oop, she bop, she bop
She bop, he bop, we bop
I bop, you bop, they bop
Be bop, be bop, a lu bop
(I hope he will understand)
She bop, he bop, we bop
I bop, you bop, they bop
Be bop, be bop, a lu she bop
Oh, she do, she bop, she bop
She bop, he bop, we bop
I bop, you bop, they bop
Be bop, be bop, a lu bop
(I hope he will understand)
She bop, he bop, we bop
I bop, you bop, they bop
Be bop, be bop, a lu she bop
Oh, she did it, she bop
Oh, she did it, she bop

My 2 Cents –

My dudes I have a nasty sinus infection. I was tempted to just skip this day because I am so not feeling well… but my boyfriend suggested this as it is a fun song that is not offensive to the soul. So, rock on.

A day for me to discuss music

Lyrics

We were good, we were gold
Kinda dream that can’t be sold
We were right ’til we weren’t
Built a home and watched it burn
Mm, I didn’t wanna leave you
I didn’t wanna lie
Started to cry but then remembered I
I can buy myself flowers
Write my name in the sand
Talk to myself for hours
Say things you don’t understand
I can take myself dancing
And I can hold my own hand
Yeah, I can love me better than you can
Can love me better
I can love me better, baby
Can love me better
I can love me better, baby
Paint my nails, cherry red
Match the roses that you left
No remorse, no regret
I forgive every word you said
Ooh, I did not wanna leave you, baby
I didn’t wanna fight
Started to cry but then remembered I
I can buy myself flowers
Write my name in the sand
Talk to myself for hours, yeah
Say things you don’t understand
I can take myself dancing, yeah
I can hold my own hand
Yeah, I can love me better than you can
Can love me better
I can love me better, baby
Can love me better
I can love me better, baby
Can love me better
I can love me better, baby
Can love me better
Oh, I
I did not wanna leave you
I didn’t wanna fight
Started to cry but then remembered I
I can buy myself flowers (oh)
Write my name in the sand (mmh)
Talk to myself for hours (yeah)
Say things you don’t understand (never will)
I can take myself dancing, yeah
I can hold my own hand
Yeah, I can love me better than
Yeah, I can love me better than you can
Can love me better
I can love me better, baby (oh)
Can love me better
I can love me better (than you can), baby
Can love me better
I can love me better, baby
Can love me better
I

My 2 Cents – oh, my. I do love a well written song. She has something here… admitted it is not the best lyrics but the idea behind the song is strong. Anyone who has been in a relationship and is now looking at being alone can tell you that you need to learn how to learn how to love you again. I love me just fine. She does just fine with this one.

A day for me to discuss music

Lyrics

I don’t know what you had in mind
But here we stand on opposing sides

Let’s go to war
Let’s go to war

We arm ourselves with the wrongs we’ve done
Name them off one by one

Let’s go to war
Let’s go to war

Everything you say
Everything you do
You push it in
And you cut me down
And you cut me down

War, war, war

Screaming at the ones we love
Like we forgot who we can trust
Screaming at the top of our lungs
On the grounds where we feel safe

Do we feel safe?
Do we feel safe?

Hush my baby; make no sound
Maybe we can wait each other out
It’s a cold war
Let’s go to war

With every settled score
I thought that fighting with meant fighting for
But you turn it around
But you turn it around

War, war, war

Screaming at the ones we love
Like we forgot who we can trust
Screaming at the top of our lungs
On the grounds where we feel safe
Screaming at the ones we love

Like we forgot who we can trust
Screaming at the top of our lungs
On the grounds where we feel safe

Do we feel safe?
Do we feels safe?
Do we feel safe?

Do we censor or do we flow?
Are we drunk on the chemicals?
Every feeling in my bones tells me to lash out
And tell you to fuck off

You’ve got my heart
And I’ve got your soul
But are we better off alone?

With every battle we lose a little more
Remember everything that we’d die for
You are everything that I’d die for

Screaming at the ones we love
Like we forgot who we can trust
Screaming at the top of our lungs
On the grounds that we feel safe

Screaming at the ones we love
Like we forgot who we can trust
Screaming at the top of our lungs
On the grounds where we feel safe

Do we feel safe?
Do we feel safe?
Do we feel safe
Do we feel safe?
Do we feel safe?
Do we feel safe?
Do we feel safe?
Do we feel safe?
Do we feel safe?

My 2 Cents – I thought I should talk about the title for my current volume. Internal Battlefields. I feel like all mental health is an internal war. we fight a battle every day against our own minds. This song feels like the anthem for this volume. So, LET’S GO TO WAR!

A day for me to discuss music

Lyrics

Strike first
Make it hurt
When everyone assumes the worst
I never have to say I’m sorry
Spiteful
Ruinous
I’m all things you feared I was
Another villain in your story
You think that I’m a spitfire?
You should
Afraid you’re on my bad side?
That’s good
If I wanted to end you
I could
I could
I’m sinking down
If you only knew how hard it is
For me to climb out
I’m kicking and screaming
But no one can hear me
So what happens now?
The shadows are creeping in
I didn’t ask for
I didn’t ask for this
Cold rage
Hides the shame
Of images I can’t escape
Scars that live under the surface
It’s strange
What I became
When part of me was ripped away
And replaced with something worthless
You think that I’m a spitfire?
You should
Afraid you’re on my bad side?
That’s good
If I wanted to end you
I could
I could
I’m sinking down
If you only knew how hard it is
For me to climb out
I’m kicking and screaming
But no one can hear me
So what happens now?
The shadows are creeping in
I didn’t ask for
I didn’t ask for this
Take what’s left
Of my fractured heart
Bloodstained ’cause
The pieces are so sharp
Take what’s left
Of my fractured heart
Bloodstained ’cause
The pieces are so sharp
I’m sinking down
If you only knew how hard it is
For me to climb out
I’m kicking and screaming
But no one can hear me
So what happens now?
The shadows are creeping in
I didn’t ask for
I didn’t ask for this
Never forget
I didn’t ask for this

My 2 Cents – this time of year is so freaking hard. No one asks for the mental health issues. No one asks for trauma. No one asks for the feeling like they are just unlovable…yet…so many people feel like they are. It costs you nothing to be kind, to be patient.

Thursday Tea Party

Hello my lovely readers. Today I have a nice cold green tea, how about you? I hope this finds you all keeping cool in this heat.

I have very few announcements but I figured I would update you all as I could.

One, we are diligently working at Fae Corps to get the Into the Glen anthologies out. Those should be out in August, As well as the Poetry book by the Lovely Beulah Vega, A Saga For the Unrequited. I am quite busy trying to get both together and will post links as soon as I have them.

I am supposed to be in Indie Blu(e)’s upcoming anthology But You Don’t Look Sick with a bit of Poetry…again links upcoming.

My resin art is for sale on my Facebook page. I am taking commissions. If you are interested in what I can make I have posted a album full of the molds I own on my personal Facebook. It is public, as not much is.

I have added a new thing for Fridays to try to bring more fun to my blog. I will start it tomorrow. Let me know what you think.

I have been adding my art to Deviant art (the link is on the side). I have also been trying to do recordings to make mine and Serena’s Books into Audiobooks. So the occasional poetry reading is going up on YouTube in the meantime.

So, that is all of mine…what are you doing for the summer? Any fun plans?

A day for me to discuss music

Lyrics
How can you see into my eyes, like open doors
Leading you down into my core
Where I’ve become so numb
Without a soul
My spirit’s sleeping somewhere cold
Until you find it there and lead it back home
Wake me up inside (save me)
Call my name and save me from the dark (wake me up)
Bid my blood to run (I can’t wake up)
Before I come undone (save me)
Save me from the nothing I’ve become
Now that I know what I’m without
You can’t just leave me
Breathe into me and make me real
Bring me to life
Wake me up inside (save me)
Call my name and save me from the dark (wake me up)
Bid my blood to run (I can’t wake up)
Before I come undone (save me)
Save me from the nothing I’ve become
Bring me to life
I’ve been living a lie
There’s nothing inside
Bring me to life
Frozen inside without your touch
Without your love, darling
Only you are the life among the dead
All this time, I can’t believe I couldn’t see
Kept in the dark, but you were there in front of me
I’ve been sleeping a thousand years it seems
I’ve got to open my eyes to everything
Without a thought, without a voice, without a soul
Don’t let me die here
There must be something wrong, bring me to life
Wake me up inside (save me)
Call my name and save me from the dark (wake me up)
Bid my blood to run (I can’t wake up)
Before I come undone (save me)
Save me from the nothing I’ve become
Bring me to life
I’ve been living a lie
There’s nothing inside
Bring me to life

My Two Cents
I think that we have a part of us that questions if we even have a reason to go on. Not meaning die, but just change who we have become. A reason to be more. The person the song is talking to could be anyone, but I half wonder if she is not begging herself. Just wishing for a chance to become something more.

Spoken Verse

Maybe making a habit.

So I am enjoying, sort of, reading my poems…. We just won’t discuss how many takes it took to get a version I was not embarrassed by…. Lol
