Wild Wednesday

Thank All of you for the Patience last week.

As I do not do anything in half measures…

I spent my birthday awake…for 28 total hours. Awake. Then I crashed and was allowed to sleep for twelve…woke up feeling sick.(not used to that much sleep at any given time.)

So…That was a fun experience. I was surrounded by love..

I even got writing done, and cover creation – though I was told I should not because I will likely not be able to write all the volumes I have covers for now. You know what? I am too old to be told what to do. I will create covers for books till I die. Because I love doing it.

Wild Wednesday

So…WordPress is complaining about space. I need to find a way to deal with Monday poetry without uploading more in the already full space…or I will have to change Monday a wee bit.

I want to do this without having to remove the previous uploaded posts. I will have to see what I have to do.

Wild Wednesday

Poets are expected to write love poetry.

Today of all days I feel like I am out of place.

My boyfriend and I have been together for nearly all our adult lives…but we are not the romantic sort. He is my best friend.

His sister writes such lovely romantic poems.

I am trying to talk her into publishing them.

But for the poet who writes gothic poems or poems about nature more than love poems…today is an extra stress.

For poets write about love and romance, right?

I just want to say it is okay to be alone. I am nonbinary with Acesexual tendencies. Romance is not something that interests me…so why would I write about it?

Just because today is a commercialized romantic hell…You are okay even if you have not found that person yet. You are okay even if you never do.

Birthdays and family

20 years ago today I gave birth to my own best friend….

{the picture is old}

As her day is on Sunday I will be struggling with getting my blog done this week.

Blessings on the solstice

Whatever you celebrate this time of year I wish you the best of it!

Lifts when you least expect

So between the stress of the normal holidays and vehicle issues… I have been a little bit more than usual fighting with my internal demons. To the point where it has even interrupted the writing. Usually the fight feeds the writing…

I’m not sure what the difference is this year but I have been struggling. That being said… my friend Jenny Elliott – writer, and Fae Corps intern…chose the best way to cheer me up.

She has been reading my The Voices within volume. And she came to a poem and decided to tell me that I was more than enough.

Screenshot she sent me.

Then she has been busy with making marketing stuff for Fae Corps and I keep running across my books there.

Though I know it was a part of her job…it really does feel like I have made some difference in this world.

Sometimes we can’t see the world around us for the immediate struggle we are dealing with.

Remember you never know what your reviews will do for the author.

Wild Wednesday

Yesterday I shared a song that takes a traditional Christmas song and adjusted it for pagans.

There’s a lot of people who would be angry about it.

But to me… songs are a different type of poetry – one that I am not very good at. I have written millions of poems and only one song.

I admire music, a lot. It has gotten me through some of the worst things in my life.

And I have a song that I associate with every heartbreak I have suffered.

So, I see somgs such as that the same way I do someone doing a rework of an old poem. As long as the original is attributed – or made obvious….why does it matter if someone has taken a different view?

I love new views on things.

Wild Wednesday

Tradition is a big part of the holidays.

In more ways than just the overall scope of things.

Families gather because of tradition.

If you google the tradition of Christmas trees you find – The first records of Christmas trees being cut for display comes from the 1820s in Pennsylvania’s German community, although trees may have been a tradition there even earlier.

In my house we get certain gifts every year because it is traditional. A box of Christmas Crunch, a bag of Andes mints, A thing of Sparkling Cider, and some Hot Chocolate.

We stretched out the holiday by letting our daughter open one present a day until Yule in December. (That meant she got 21 presents at least although we really did not do stockings and such.)

We did a lot of homemade gifts. Which focused on time spent together. We still do. Jams, and Jellies are likely to be a favorite this year.

What are your traditions? If you celebrate a different holiday please don’t hesitate to tell me your holiday traditions. I honestly want to know. This is not a place of judgement. This is a time when sharing knowledge makes us all wiser.
