She writes cute children’s books, and adventure filled young adult stories. Her blog, Redbird’s Storytime is a fun place where she shares updates and stories about her faeries.

She credits her eighth grade teacher Mr. January with her love of writing. She said that she chose to be an Indie author because of the control it grants her. She has quite a lot of experience writing, over 35 years worth! We look forward to reading all of the stories that she has to tell!

Patricia Harris

Hi everyone and welcome to our Author Spotlight! Today we have Patti Harris, who goes by Patricia Harris for her poetry and children’s books. She has been writing for 35 years thanks to her grandmother who started her love of storytelling and poetry.

She tells us that she chose to be an Indie Author because it allows her creative control and she has quite a few books published. You can find her work on Amazon and her blog: Pattimouse

When she isn’t giving us amazing thought-provoking poems or amusing children’s adventures, she makes resin and jewelry, she reads, she crotchets, and does beautiful digital art and paintings.

She lives in West Virginia, USA with her long term boyfriend and daughter and also has two sons, and two adorable grandsons.

We asked her if she deals with writer’s block and how she deals with it. She told us she does get…

Artist Spotlight : Roni S. Healan

pattimouse's avatarFae Corps Publishing

From painted rocks to canvases, this lady does some amazing art. She credits the Art Sherpa for inspiring her.

Her journey has been a difficult one. From an abusive relationship, and an illness that she was wondering if it was poison to being alone and struggling to get on her feet. Roni is a strong survivor who has so much talent.

Her creative nature shows up in the wonderful paintings she does. She said that the paintings that are pictured here are all for sale.

She is on Facebook where she hosts an art group. It’s a wonderful group of like minded souls.

She said that she has been suffering from a creative block while she was so ill. And that here lately the need to return to painting has returned. Personally, I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.

If you are interested in buying…

Whispering titles and cover change

Whispers of the Muse

So, I posted previously that my next poetry volume is titled Whispers of the Muse…And I posted the cover design that I had done for it. Well to be honest I was less than impressed with my own design there. I liked some of the elements. I just felt like I had missed the calling with some of the cover. It had the whisper, but not the muse. So I adjusted. Art is supposed to evolve. This is the final adjustment and my official cover reveal.

There is parts of being a artist that drive me even farther crazy at times, but I really do enjoy when I see something work. I would love input? Do you like it? Hate it? and why?

Tuesday Tunes

Hello my lovelies! Thank you all for your understanding and well wishes yesterday. I am not back to 100% but I am doing better. This weekend was a lot of me sleeping to recover. Today’s song took me some thinking. I like to use songs that have meaning to me, beyond just me liking it. That way I can perhaps encite a discussion, or try to. So there were several that popped to mind due to indepence day being this week…the one that won the spotlight in my mind isn’t some patriotic theme.

Today I want to talk about Independence Day by Martina McBride.

Well she seemed all right by dawn’s early light
Though she looked a little worried and weak.
She tried to pretend he wasn’t drinkin’ again
But daddy’d left the proof on her cheek.
And I was only eight years old that summer
And I always seemed to be in the way
So I took myself down to the fair in town
On Independence Day.

Well ,word gets around in a small, small town
They said he was a dangerous man
But mama was proud and she stood her ground
But she knew she was on the losin’ end.
Some folks whispered and some folks talked
But everybody looked the other way
And when time ran out there was no one about
On Independence Day.

Let freedom ring, let the white dove sing
Let the whole world know that today
Is a day of reckoning.
Let the weak be strong, let the right be wrong
Roll the stone away, let the guilty pay
It’s Independence Day.

Well, she lit up the sky that fourth of July
By the time that the firemen come
They just put out the flames
And took down some names
And send me to the county home.
Now I ain’t sayin’ it’s right or it’s wrong
But maybe it’s the only way.
Talk about your revolution
It’s Independence Day.

Let freedom ring, let the white dove sing
Let the whole world know that today
Is a day of reckoning.
Let the weak be strong, let the right be wrong
Roll the stone away, let the guilty pay
It’s Independence Day.

Roll the stone away
It’s Independence Day.

This song is so powerful. The lyrics speak so much about the other side of Domestic Violence. The side of those who are helpless, just watching and having no way of stopping that speeding mess.
