You’ve been inside me for a few months now,
Growing, developing, moving,
I can only see you on a hospital screen –
And so, even when I don’t like it much,
I go there anyway, just for a chance to see you
Again and again.

When we first found out about your existence,
I was expecting it, but –
Oh, you should’ve seen your father’s face –
What a picture it was!
The only regret I had after that day
Was that I didn’t think to take a photo to show you
When you were all grown up –
I’m sure you’d laugh and laugh,
Till you could no more!

Ever since then, you’ve been inside of me,
Growing, developing –
From a tiny seed to an almost full-grown baby –
I’ve seen every one of it.

But it was when you started moving inside me
That the real joy…
