Productivity Faeries

So I am on almost all of the social media outlets…. Though it is hit or miss on some as to how often. Tumblr is not something that I am on quite as often…. And yes I use it for poetry not porn…. Lol. It has been the best for poetry prompts. I really like prompts, as it gives me a focus to help the muse.

I finished writing Word Petals, my latest volume of poetry. However, editing and layout will be putting the likely release in January. Still, It meant that I needed a new volume. So I put in play one of the titles that I have in reserve, Soul’s Door. The new volume is already started.

Rust, Gore, and the Junkyard Zombie is still in the first round of edits. We just moved in a new home so I have been very busy, and the edits have been back burnered a couple of times. It is a priority but I have to have things like coffee and clean clothes for my editing time.

The blog/newsletter that I am doing with my sister is up and doing well. We post at least four times a week, often more…. Makes me feel like I am neglecting this one, though I have even gotten better at keeping it up.

If you are wanting to find me on the various social media outlets…. I am pattimouse nearly everywhere. Or just comment and I will answer.

  1. Let me know if you find the productivity faeries!
I use tumblr for prompts as well! It was my first way of writing poetry and being encouraged to do so, to be honest. It’s always going to be a gem in my heart even if I don’t use it that much anymore.

    1. Heck, I am one of the productivity faeries! I actually never used prompts until recently. Poetry was always a way of my soul showing, so I believed for the longest time that I was cheating when I used prompts…. Silly right? It’s been only the last couple of years that my view changed. This after thirty five years as a poet.

      1. That’s a long poet history! 35 years! I can dream of that haha, haven’t reached my fifth year yet!

Prompts are great, because they both explore our unconscious as well as challenge us to go out of our comfort zone. I like trying out some techniques or formats such as acrostics. They really tend to inspire me.

I’ve been working on a second poetry collection and am almost content with the amount of poems, but I am trying to do be discouraged by all the editing and rewriting I have to do, so seeing other people working hard is really inspiring and motivational!

      2. I currently have like eleven volumes out on Amazon. I have lost much of what I wrote before six years ago so even though I have been writing 35 years it’s not something I can easily show. It is incredibly easy for a poet to be discouraged… But if you keep at it, it is also worthwhile. Your poetry is quite wonderful!

      3. I really appreciate taht, coming from someone who definitely has an experience in poetry! That is a pity of losing so much work. Having poetry in collections is not only a way of releasing poems for public, but also a way of self-recording your life and thoughts so that we can always go and look back.

      4. It’s why I post a lot on here. So far, with both my collections, I’ve specifically written poetry for the collections, as long as it fits the theme. Really excited about the next one, I definitely have learnt a lot since the first.

      5. Yeah. Randomness is great. I might dabble into that more into the future, but so far themes really are my thing. I try not to sacrafice organic value, as the poems are still quite personal and kind of auto-biographical.
