Whelp It’s Wednesday.

Yeah, I am sure y’all know this one by now…But today it is simply because I am fighting an almost daily migraine. I am fighting mental health issues, hard, and I just don’t have any extra energy to suggest new web comics. The internet is so full of Wonderful comics, but I just don’t know what I have already recommended and don’t have the energy needed to pick a new one.

Instead I will recommend a neat content creator on TikTok. She sings Puns. She is a fun creator. I may alternate a bit and recommend some Tiktok creators in between some web comics. It sounds like it might be less stressful. Go laugh at Drew and her Puns.

Webcomics Wednesdays

so I came across this on Tiktok….I thought that it would be a fun one to check out this week. join me?

I have looked at the Instagram account for the artist…and followed the link to the website. They have amazing art on there. however I don’t see an organization that I am used to with webcomics. Perhaps it is still being setup? I personally plan to keep my eyes on it in hopes of seeing the cute setup in the video.

Webcomics Wednesday

Contemplating Reiko is a fun comic that rides a little on the dark side. It is mostly done in single page comics that rarely are sequential. I have spent hours reading the back comics and laughing my tail off.

According to the about page on the site ‘Contemplating Reiko is a wicked little cartoon strip about a wicked little girl named Reiko and her three sisters Shinobu, Shirabe, and Shihoka. ‘ I remember reading this comic as far back as 21 years ago. it has always been such a delight to read. The characters are very demonic, so the themes are evil. I personally enjoy Reiko and her antics.

So, tell me, what webcomics, if any, do you follow?

Words are hard

Yesterday I was wanting to do a post about Japanese poetry forms. Japan is a place with a very rich culture and their literature shows it. Their mythology and history is such a diverse and interesting set of topics that the average person might be confused by it.

So I was wanting to be sure that I had the spelling and such right. When I don’t know the proper way to spell… I Google. Google led me to an article that I was blown away by. The writer is far more eloquent on the topic than I feel capable of. So, I admit I felt discouraged.

One of the problems that many authors face is the issue of comparison… Not by others but the comparison we do ourselves. It is so hard to see our own writing and feel accomplished. It is so hard not to hate on our own way of speaking. Dude, words are hard. Especially when you read someone else has written it in a way that just makes sense.

So, I have shared the link above to the article on Japanese poetry. I ask you… What forms do you like and where does it orignate from? Do you find articles that hit home and feel seen or discouraged? And why?

Webcomic Wednesday

I am now back able to work on getting updated on my favorite web-comics again. I have several who are no longer available. I have shared a few with you. Today I will share one that I am not updated on…but that I am slowly working through. I have to continue to clean up bookmarks, and get up to date on my favorites.

Today I want to share a comic based off of the writing of H.P. Lovecraft. You wouldn’t think that such deep philosophical writings could make anything resembling funny, but this web comic really has some great humor. Each comic has a bit of a stand alone feel, but I highly recommend going through the archives. It is very worth it.

Wednesday Web

So I have been finding some really great podcasts and other nifty websites that I want to share with y’all. I considered putting it in the tea party… But that is already so complicated that I felt like some of these would get lost. Monday is always Poetry, and poetry related. Tuesday tunes works so well. And occasionally Tuesday tech. Wednesday already had wordless Wednesday and the occasional Webcomics. However I think adding the occasional Web discovery will add to the reason for you to come see me.

Today I want to talk about :

Belladonna Love Presents

This is a relatively new podcast. She has agreed to read a story from our Under the Mists Anthology! Just one, but it would give you an idea of how great the anthology is.

Her voice is sweet, and country sounding. I want to call it sexy, but feel like that might be different for each person. It’s warm, and joyful. Educated, but not stuffy. Her content so far is not a huge variety, but she promised that is going to be growing.

She is currently on spreaker, but has applied for Spotify and iHeartRadio. When she updates me, I promise to share the links here as well.

What do you think of this discovery? Take a listen to her content and tell me what you think!
