What the Dead Know

By

Serena Mossgraves

Regrets add weight
To the soul,
Leaving knowledge
Of what life has been
Stripped away
From all that was
Worthwhile.

Instead of fighting with
What the Dead know,
The living should be
Thinking about how
To live instead.

Hell

By

Serena Mossgraves

I read somewhere
That Hell was a place
Of fire and suffering,
I think not.

Hell is familiar,
That place you go
over and over again.

Hell is repetition,
and unending.

Hell is the moment
where the pain feels
the most like home.

Perhaps there might
be suffering,
but in the moment
would you see it so?
Or would you merely accept
that this is all you have
ever really known?

Monday Poetry

Today is one of mine and one of Serena’s poems, Mostly because Serena has been writing more than I have. Her Midnight Verse is nearing done. I have barely started with Echoes.

Serena Mossgraves’s Poetry

Since today is the release day for her Blood Red Rain… I thought I would share 2 of Serena’s poems. One from the new release (at the bottom) and another one from the one in progress.

So first…

Serena decided to do a book similar to my own Anthology Alumni. Hers is all short stories. She chose not to include the ones that are pieces of extended stories.

If you are interested here is the link. It is due to release September 22.

Second, she is going to be working on a 3rd poetry volume. We will let you know when it is available… but here is the cover for it….

And if you have not gotten it…her second one, Blood Red Rain is out for preorder with an August 25 release date.

Monday Poetry

It has been a while since I posted Serena’s poetry… so here’s 2 from her current Wip.

Broken heart

I lost a friend today. He actually passed away on the 7th… But I found out today. He was so bright and compassionate. He would at least once a month send me a digital hug. He was a veteran and a good man. I will miss him.

I normally put poetry on pictures with a copyright notice… This one hurts too much.
