Whelp It’s Wednesday!

I normally do Wow Wednesday…but this week is going to be a crazy one for me…and I am likely to be late next week on being able to schedule my blog. I am going to be out of Internet ability next weekend.

I will try to get it up, but I cannot guarantee anything.

I have things planned for every day this week. EVERY DAY.

Monday I am taking my girl and we are going to Spirit Halloween to look around.

Tuesday there is doctor appointments. Multiple ones.

Wednesday (Today) I need to go help my sister go through her storage building – with possibility of my walking away with a new keyboard (musical type). She is needing to condense it down and wants me to take stuff I want. So I really am looking forward to spending the day with her (Even without the storage building being involved) and the adventure sounds fun.

Thursday I am supposed to be packing/ getting ready to go out of town.

Friday I am going to my friends camp and spending the weekend. It is a nice camp, but I will be out of reach. No cell signal. No internet. So Techno geek me – panics. But we promised we would go.

We will return Sunday…but it will be forever….ya know?

If I don’t have my usual posts next week – that is why. I will have the Drawtober posts regardless. I have already scheduled those through October. (I went ahead and did the art for it so I did not have to worry about things like this.)

Tools!

Okay…I get recommended writing tools at least once a day…sometimes once an hour. Most of them are bloody expensive.

I can’t afford to pay out for quite a few of them. Oh believe me…I have paid for some, and for services…(Including some editors that I plan to recommend on another post)

This one is entirely about the programs I use.

We will start with the ones I was willing to pay for.

Canva – I pay for the premium features. The reason is because of the amount of use this opens up. I use it for marketing, poetry images, blog images, cover design, and quite a few other fun little things. This is not an expensive cost but it is a monthly cost. I pay $13 a month.

Master PDF – This was a one time cost. It has come down since I bought it. It was closer to 100 when I bought it. It’s now $70. I can use this to make the full covers, sign contracts, adjust a pdf in whatever way I need to. This is the most comprehensive editor I have found. There is a few features I would like it to have and I used to have a pdf compiler program that did those but I don’t have it currently…might look for one.

Google Drive – I pay for the largest google drive so I can have some file access and backup ability. This is not a need. It is a personal preference. I have lost files too often.

One Drive/One Note – okay those who have followed me for awhile know I had to switch my writing on my phone from Evernote to One Note. This was a difficult decision prompted by Evernote choosing to go with a forced AI…I was uncomfortable with it and tried to opt out. The response I got was …sad to say the least. So I pay for One drive to make One note usable. It costs me $8 monthly.

That is it. The paid list.

Now for the freeware.

LibreOffice – This program does everything Microsoft office does and then some. And it does not cost anything.

Sigil – Epubs are the filetype that publishing require. Libre office will export to epub. But you have to fix the file. It only requires a couple of minor fixes – but it needs done if you expect to use the created epub.

And Lastly – this one is a tool I use for Communication.

Discord – It allows me to easily transfer files to the authors and be able to announce upcoming events and such. It makes things easier for me. Fae Corps Publishing’s Discord even has channels for writing games and such to try and help the writers. There is places for feedback and general help, and prompts. All conveniently in one place.

This of course is not all my tools. But it is the main ones. and it gives you a start.

The Things We Do

Tonight the voice is loud.

That voice that says I am not enough.

No matter how much I do. No matter what I list as my accomplishments.

I refuse to listen. So I have been in defiance doing art and writing.

Though I see it as flawed…my view of my art and writing always says that there is no reason why anyone would like it…

I have purposely not been allowing my inner voice the ability to take control.

It is an actual fight.

Tonight I am winning.

The art above was done tonight.

Echoes is now 65/70 poems

Serena’s Gathered Bones is at 13/70 poems

Kingdoms of sin got another 500 words tonight.

There is a story started for Fae Corps publishing’s Spring anthology.

And I did another digital landscape.

I have still got work that needs done. Things that are sitting on my desk with a needs attention tag on them…but tonight I was in the wrong headspace for editing and for making sure that things looked their best. Tonight I did my best to create.

Because when you are feeling like you are not enough – MAKE MORE! so I did.

And if it is flawed…well some of the best loved things are flawed. that does not make them loved any less.

Blog inconsistencies

So this week I didn’t post anything that I normally do for Wednesday, or Thursday… but I am doing a daily thing September, October, and November. In September and October I am posting art daily. And I may not be able to do the normal week posts during the interim. And in November I am going to be doing a Pad post. I am not sure yet if I am doing a share of just a poem I write or poetry I like as well. Still need to consider it. But with everything else I have going on… I can’t juggle the daily thing and the normal stuff too.

This year

I was going over the publishing calendar for the rest of the year. Whew.

2 books in September (one of My books, and one of Serena’s)

4 books in October (One of Mine, 2 Anthologies from Fae Corps, One from Raz T. Slasher)

4 books in November (One from Ashira Datya, One from NK Xero that I am still waiting on the cover and Manuscript for, One of Mine, and One of Serena’s that the link is coming soon for)

Then our Kids week has currently 3 books tentatively planned. One by me, one by Raz T. Slasher, and a third by CM Snow.

And Next year’s schedule is already filling up. January has 2. March already has one. And May has one. There are vague others that have placeholders but no defined date yet. I try to limit my calendar to four per month because sometimes even that is more than I can do.

I feel like I want to do more than I am capable of.

And I still have to squeeze my own writing and life in on the schedule too.

This year has been busier than I am used to. It wears on a person.

Completed. Half Marathon

That was fun.

The day was complicated and the poetry helped me focus my attention on things other than the true mess that was going on. Now I have to go about cleaning up my life.

From A Differing Perspective

The argument that seemed so dire

to you was to me nothing

more than Tuesday,

I tried to explain my view

only for you to turn the other way.

My words meant nothing,

you didn’t want to hear…

it was all about you…

much as it always was.

My tears fell unwarranted

to find that you did not care,

so my urge to argue was

unimpeded by  the need to

head your feelings instead.

Monday Poetry

I oopsed and undid my Monday poetry post from this week…so here it is again…one from me and one from Serena…

Wild Wednesday

I posted recently about evolution of poetry volumes.

I started Echoes into the void Yesterday(For me this is Sunday.)

And already the inspiration has been leaning towards a singular topic. That does not mean it will be the end theme…but that is often how it starts. I am amused by this.

And in Announcements – I have been approved to do the Poetry Marathon Half Marathon! I did it before in 2017. It is 12 poems in 12 hours. One an hour based on prompts given. I usually enjoy this sort of writing challenge. I will be posting the poems here as well. It is in September. (I have to look up the exact date again…So I will clarify more information closer to.)
