Lyrics –

Who’s sorry now?
Who’s sorry now?
Whose heart is achin’ for breakin’ each vow?
Who’s sad and blue? Who’s cryin’ too?
Just like I cried over you

Right to the end
Just like a friend
I tried to warn you somehow
You had your way
Now you must pay
I’m glad that you’re sorry now

Right to the end
Just like a friend
I tried to warn you somehow
You had your way
Now you must pay
I’m glad that you’re sorry now

My 2 cents –

I notice the celebrity deaths…I can’t help it. I remember listening to Connie Francis as a teen. (One of my Aunts really liked the 50’s rock.) I come by my eclectic music tastes naturally. She wasn’t one of the ones that I listened to relentlessly but I did like a few of the songs. I cannot help but pay tribute to that. May she rest well and her memory be a blessing.

Book Discussion

so I have been trying to consider the Saturday thing and I came across multiple people this week asking for ideas for cheap covers or ways to do things cheaper when Self Publishing.

I am firm on my beliefs that you should hire an editor for your work. That being said, you can do everything else for yourself to save money. I am not saying you will be able to do it as well…but it is possible. I am going to start talking about self Publishing and some of the snarls.

I will talk about each step of the process. I will give advice on how I have been doing this.  I don’t know how long this series will take but I think it may be fun.

Lyrics –

I can see you’re strugglin’
Promise you’ll find love again
Yeah, it will be alright
Why are you so hard on yourself?
Yeah, why you gotta try so hard?
Counting calories and carbs
Another trip across the world
I go so hard tryna
Make you feel just like a queen
You don’t need a camera to make a scene
You were born like that, no Maybelline
When you first wake up, you’re bad to me
Pop another Addy, no sleep tonight
Can’t push the wheel slow, I’m speedin’ right
Over to the crib ’cause we need to slide
But you take so long makin’ up your mind
Little black dress, Dior bag
Can leave ten times, I’ll take you back
Why you wanna look like someone else?
Why are you so hard on yourself?
I can see you’re strugglin’
Promise you’ll find love again
Yeah, it will be alright
Why are you so hard on yourself?
Try not to fall apart
You’re perfect just the way you are
It will be alright
Why are you so hard on yourself?
Why you gotta compare our lives
To pics you see on your timeline?
Another shot of Hennessy
I try so hard not to
Act like a dick when I’m ’round your friends
Mood swings up and down again
Hollywood Hills, where we play pretend
No one happy, but they’re good at fakin’ it
Pop up in the party, show face tonight
I don’t really smoke, but I need the vibes
She love to get high, she need the flights
Standin’ so high, swear she could fly
And just like that, you get sad
Let’s go home, girl, this party’s so wack
Why you wanna be like someone else?
Why are you so hard on yourself?
I can see you’re strugglin’ (yeah)
Promise you’ll find love again
Yeah, it will be alright (it’ll be alright)
Why are you so hard on yourself? (Yeah)
Try not to fall apart
You’re perfect just the way you are
It will be alright
Why are you so hard on yourself? (Oh)
Girl, when you look in a mirror
I hope you see what I see clearer, yeah
All that I want you to know
Is that you’re perfect the way that you are
Oh, the way you are (oh, the way you are)
Oh-oh, ooh
Oh, why are you so hard on yourself?
I can see you’re strugglin’
Promise you’ll find love again
Yeah, it will be alright
Why are you so hard on yourself?
Try not to fall apart
You’re perfect just the way you are
It will be alright
Why are you so hard on yourself?
Oh-oh, oh-oh (yeah)
Oh-oh, oh-oh, oh

My 2 cents –

I myself have felt like this. on both sides of the song. I am sure that others have too.

intro
Keep movin′ on

verse
Don’t bother askin′ me to ever give my lady up
Was about five years old, takin’ my first puff
It was love at first light, fell in love the first night
My uncle told me, “Don’t rush, this could be your first crush”
Now I′m on the block with all the homies, and it′s a family affair
17 with a dream, blowin’ smoke in the air
Servin′ fiends, my routine is where I was that year
Avoidin’ ′em fuckin’ pandas in my rearview mirror
County blues, wanna lose shit, I′m with all of my peers
Lookin’ back, I wouldn’t change shit, oh what a career
I used to flip bags with her (yeah), skip class with her (yeah)
She′s comfortable as fuck when I′m tryna smash with her
She got a lotta fans, and they’re always harassin′ us
Ashes to ash to dust, feels like I’m Lazarus
I can′t get past the rush, never pass her up
Who took this bitch worldwide? Nigga, we’re gassin′ up, now is the

chorus
Last dance with Mary Jane, one more time to kill the pain
Even before the fame, she was my Novacane
You know it ain’t gon’ change, ′cause now
I feel summer creepin′ in, and I’m tired of this town again
And if the truth remains that it just ain′t the same
Without my Lois Lane by my side

verse
I’ve seen some things in my life, it feels like ragin′ inside
This time I’m changin′ my mind, I’m sayin’ goodbye to the dangerous side
Sometimes you gotta roll with it, fightin′ fire is a damn cold finesse
Somehow she came in my life
Between the white lines and made it alright (well alright)
And everything she ever told me, knew it from the get-go, yes I did (yes I did)
And if I gotta grab a can of gasoline, strike a match, I′ma burn that bridge
It’s so unfair what she did to me, the way she sparked this epiphany
I tried to walk away, but I′m stumblin’, whole world crumblin′
Some things never change, but now it’s my

chorus
Last dance with Mary Jane (this is my last dance), one more time to kill the pain
Even before the fame, she was my Novacane
You know it ain′t gon’ change, ’cause now
I feel summer creepin′ in (I feel it comin′), and I’m tired of this town again
And yet the truth remains that it just ain′t the same without my Lois Lane by my side

outro
Mm-mm-mm, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Mm-mm-mm, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Keep movin’ on

My 2 cents –

Lyrics –

Born down in a dead man’s town
The first kick I took was when I hit the ground
You end up like a dog that’s been beat too much
Till you spend half your life just covering up

Born in the U.S.A.
I was born in the U.S.A.
I was born in the U.S.A.
Born in the U.S.A.

Got in a little hometown jam
So they put a rifle in my hand
Sent me off to a foreign land
To go and kill the yellow man

Born in the U.S.A.
I was born in the U.S.A.
I was born in the U.S.A.
I was born in the U.S.A.
Born in the U.S.A.

Come back home to the refinery
Hiring man says “Son if it was up to me”
Went down to see my V.A. man
He said “Son, don’t you understand”

I had a brother at Khe Sanh fighting off the Viet Cong
They’re still there, he’s all gone

He had a woman he loved in Saigon
I got a picture of him in her arms now

Down in the shadow of the penitentiary
Out by the gas fires of the refinery
I’m ten years burning down the road
Nowhere to run ain’t got nowhere to go

Born in the U.S.A.
I was born in the U.S.A.
Born in the U.S.A.
I’m a long gone Daddy in the U.S.A.
Born in the U.S.A.
Born in the U.S.A.
Born in the U.S.A.
I’m a cool rocking Daddy in the U.S.A.

My 2 cents –

This is one of the most misunderstood songs. I have heard quite a few people lately asking about protest songs, And I can probably do that and nothing else for years, as music is good for expressing reality in a manageable way. So many people see this as a patriotic song…I see it as a lament. Perhaps the antiwar songs will be making my blog more in the future…after all I fear that is the direction that the US is going.

Lyrics –

There are no more tears to cry
I heard you beggin’ for life
Runnin’ out of medicine
You’re worse than you’ve ever been

screamin’ for me, baby
(Ah-ah) like you’re gonna die
(Ah-ah) poison on the inside
I could be your antidote tonight
(Ah-ah) screamin’ for me, baby
(Ah-ah) like you’re gonna die
(Ah-ah) poison on the inside
I could be your antidote tonight

I could play the doctor, I can cure your disease
If you were a sinner, I could make you believe
Lay you down like one, two, three
Eyes roll back in ecstasy
I can smell your sickness, I can cure ya (cure)
Cure your disease

You’re so tortured when you sleep
Plagued with all your memories
You reach out, and no one’s there
Like a god without a prayer

screamin’ for me, baby
(Ah-ah) like you’re gonna die
(Ah-ah) poison on the inside
I could be your antidote tonight
(Ah-ah) screamin’ for me, baby
(Ah-ah) like you’re gonna die
(Ah-ah) poison on the inside
I could be your antidote tonight

I could play the doctor, I can cure your disease
If you were a sinner, I could make you believe
Lay you down like one, two, three
Eyes roll back in ecstasy
I can smell your sickness, I can cure ya (cure)
Cure your disease

cure your disease
(Ah)
I can smell your sickness, I can cure ya

Bring me your desire, I can cure your disease
If you were a sinner, I could make you believe
Lay you down like one, two, three
Eyes roll back in ecstasy
I know all your secrets, I can cure ya, oh
Cure your disease

cure your disease
(Ah) cure ya
(Ah)
I can smell your sickness, I can cure ya
I can cure your disease
(Ah) cure your disease
(Ah) cure your disease
(Ah) ooh
(Ah) ooh

My 2 cents –

I find myself with no doubts that she could do something….but maybe not cure the issues I have. Still the song is definitely worth listening to.
