Poetry

the first word
spoken freely
was a form of poetry.
Given to us as a dream
poems are the only true
communication.

we can speak with ease,
flourish and flowers…
oh really the poetry
and its powers.

Poetry

Trying to find the poetry
when sick is extremely
Daunting.

*author’s note: I have been sick for the last few days. I went to check the pad challenge and try to get caught up…Day 10 was to write a 10 word poem. tbh this is the only thing I could come up with there. so I am only doing one poem for day 10.

Poetry

How many stories can you tell
in the poetry you deign to
pick up the pen to share?

Drip epic energy
in words most sublime,
and tell me a story if you
possibly have the time.

Poetry

the poet is required
when the world goes dark,
for poetry gives the cracks
for light to get in.

Sometimes you need to write
your voice to remember that
the world cannot remove your voice.

Poetry

I forgot to lift my pen
when I first started to cry,
misery normally feeds
the poetry well.

This time I found
the ink was dry,
and the tears could not
soak in to it.

Poetry

Perhaps it is true
that writing poetry is easier
in times of tragedy,
but I personally
prefer the poetry
written in joy.

The weight of tragedy
and of despair make the poetry
harder to bear in reality,
where as joy will lift you
when you read.

Poetry

carve away the layers
to weave the poetry
beneath.

the pen has so much power
that only you can
release.

Poetry is the lifeblood
you cannot help but bleed
everywhere.

Poetry

Inspiration does not come easily
Especially when trying to write poetry.
Sometimes the art is but a whisper
forgotten to the land of dreams,
others it is not as good as once it seemed.

Every time you pick up your pen
the dance of poetry starts again.
It bleeds into all prose you write
Often stuck in your brain
much like a parasite.

Poetry

the pen is heavy
when the poetry hurts

all the words cut
like you carve them
into your skin.

Poetry is but simply
emotions given form.

Poetry

As the ink dries I see
the definition of who I am
in the poetry.

Though I have written
many a line and verse,
I have not found anything
like poetry that can hurt.
