multi media multi genre okay explain

FAQ

I end up claiming to be a multi media artist and a multi genre writer and I think it confuses people.

so I will try to explain…

Art covers pencil drawings, watercolor painting, clay sculpture, acrylic paintings, digital paintings, cover design, jewelry design, resin art, crochet, plastic canvas, oil pastels and other things that I have yet to explore. I have been known to do candle making, macrame, sewing projects…and each of the projects were for me a form of art.

I know how to make books by hand. I can do Calligraphy. I can bake my own bread. Art is subjective. I am not one to limit myself to one medium.

I list myself as a multi genre writer as I have published nonfiction , poetry, and children’s books as Patricia Harris and horror, Gothic Poetry, and dark fantasy as Serena Mossgraves. I don’t think that is too confusing.

Thursday thoughts

Meme - Feeling Invisible

This is the first day of a new month.

New months mean a fresh start from the mess that was July.

This is going to be a busy month.

I have 2 book releases for Fae corps and the deadline for the Anthology Nightmare Whiskers.

It’s also the last month of summer. Which is the one that I want to get as much resin time in as I can.

My kid suggested that I should try to make a TikTok shop for the jewelry I make.

It’s something that I have to think about.

I am thinking that Thursday is going to be a rotation of random things from now on. I rather enjoy the idea of making the reading posts and the art posts but I don’t always have the ability to make such a post every week.

Today I want to talk about Resin Art… and what is that?

Some call molded resin less than art. Art often implies some kind of creative touch added.

Crafting with molds usually means adding stuff to the molds and then pouring resin in and letting it set.

The stuff you add can be beads, or colorants, or other things that you think would make the items look good.

I have a large collection of molds.  no two pieces are ever the same.

so what do you think? is molded resin art?

Artsy Fartsy Thursday

Art for me is such a multi formatted thing. Right now it is too damn cold…but I want to go play with my resin again. This is a picture of a piece I did a few years ago.

Thursday Tea Party

Hello my lovely readers. Today I have a nice cold green tea, how about you? I hope this finds you all keeping cool in this heat.

I have very few announcements but I figured I would update you all as I could.

One, we are diligently working at Fae Corps to get the Into the Glen anthologies out. Those should be out in August, As well as the Poetry book by the Lovely Beulah Vega, A Saga For the Unrequited. I am quite busy trying to get both together and will post links as soon as I have them.

I am supposed to be in Indie Blu(e)’s upcoming anthology But You Don’t Look Sick with a bit of Poetry…again links upcoming.

My resin art is for sale on my Facebook page. I am taking commissions. If you are interested in what I can make I have posted a album full of the molds I own on my personal Facebook. It is public, as not much is.

I have added a new thing for Fridays to try to bring more fun to my blog. I will start it tomorrow. Let me know what you think.

I have been adding my art to Deviant art (the link is on the side). I have also been trying to do recordings to make mine and Serena’s Books into Audiobooks. So the occasional poetry reading is going up on YouTube in the meantime.

So, that is all of mine…what are you doing for the summer? Any fun plans?
