Doing the poetry marathon has me at the point where I’m needing to pick the next volume. I usually ask here and on Facebook for opinions as to what I should do next.
which one do you like best ?

Be Demystified!
So I have said that I enjoy making covers…and Especially poetry covers for future books – whether I ever get them written or not…I just enjoy the creation of the idea.
I am, at least where my files are concerned, Very organized. So I have a folder of future Poetry volumes and then each is organized alphabetically.
That gives me an idea of when I have two many of any one letter starting the titles. So I can choose titles from letters I have less of. If I have 3 or more then I feel like it is time to pick a different folder to add an idea to.
Do I realize that with over 70 future volume covers I will never get them all written? Yeah. This is an art form that relaxes me. And it means when I finish a volume I have choices. So less anxiety there.
My child thinks I am overwhelming myself. Planning for things that will never be, I see it as dreaming gently about possibilities.

Though a couple of the volumes had a vote each this one received the most over all of the platforms. So I am as of Tuesday afternoon at 430pm only five poems away from finishing Human Shaped Verse. I have no doubt that I will have it done within the next few days and starting on Lost Notes. The others will get written eventually. They will go back into the rotation for the next volume as I get finished. I usually pick five that feel right and present them to everyone as choices when I get within ten poems of completion of a volume. It is slightly random in that respect.

So I am nearly done with Human Shaped Verse. It’s Time to ask again. What do you think should be my next volume?

Today I want to discuss book covers.
This is in some ways a very commercial art. And it is regulated by genre. People expect each book in a genre to have similar covers. To the point that unique covers in the industry are the stand out instead of the standard.
When I started my journey with publishing, I was sure that I had to follow those rules. My original covers were very bland. As most poetry volumes have…
Then someone I respected quite a bit told me that the only thing wrong with my books was the covers didn’t match me. (next week on publishing demystified I will be talking about the covers and the tools I use to deal with them).
I think my covers have become more unique and I really enjoy the making of them. Here’s some of the ones I have made.

Thank All of you for the Patience last week.
As I do not do anything in half measures…
I spent my birthday awake…for 28 total hours. Awake. Then I crashed and was allowed to sleep for twelve…woke up feeling sick.(not used to that much sleep at any given time.)
So…That was a fun experience. I was surrounded by love..
I even got writing done, and cover creation – though I was told I should not because I will likely not be able to write all the volumes I have covers for now. You know what? I am too old to be told what to do. I will create covers for books till I die. Because I love doing it.

so I have been making future poetry volume covers… whether I ever get to write them… I enjoy creating them. WordPress doesn’t yet have the space for me to share my pictures…. so I have been putting them on Facebook in a public album. so I wanted to share my joy on my birthday. I am hoping that the link works. if not… look up my fb page (pattimouseauthor) and it is one of my public albums.
