A day for me to discuss music

Lyrics –

Eh, eheu, eheu
Eh, eheu, eheu
Eh, eheu, eheu
Eh, eheu, eheu
Eh, eheu, eheu
Eh, eheu, eheu
Eh, eheu, eheu
Eh, eheu, eheu
I was left to my own devices
Many days fell away with nothing to show
And the walls kept tumbling down in the city that we love
Grey clouds roll over the hills bringing darkness from above
But if you close your eyes
Does it almost feel like nothing changed at all?
And if you close your eyes
Does it almost feel like you’ve been here before?
How am I gonna be an optimist about this?
How am I gonna be an optimist about this?
We were caught up and lost in all of our vices
In your pose as the dust settled around us
And the walls kept tumbling down in the city that we love
Grey clouds roll over the hills bringing darkness from above
But if you close your eyes
Does it almost feel like nothing changed at all?
And if you close your eyes
Does it almost feel like you’ve been here before?
How am I gonna be an optimist about this?
How am I gonna be an optimist about this?
Eheu, eheu
Eh, eheu, eheu
Eh, eheu, eheu
Eh, eheu, eheu
Oh, where do we begin?
The rubble or our sins?
Oh, oh, where do we begin?
The rubble or our sins?
And the walls kept tumbling down in the city that we love
Grey clouds roll over the hills bringing darkness from above
But if you close your eyes
Does it almost feel like nothing changed at all?
And if you close your eyes
Does it almost feel like you’ve been here before?
How am I gonna be an optimist about this?
How am I gonna be an optimist about this?
If you close your eyes
Does it almost feel like nothing changed at all?
Eh, eheu, eheu
Eh, eheu, eheu
Eh, eheu, eheu
Eh, eheu, eheu
Eh, eheu, eheu
Eh, eheu, eheu
Eh, eheu, eheu
Eh, eheu, eheu

My 2 cents –

The news is enough to make sure I want to burn everything to the ground .

Publishing Demystified

The purpose of this one is simple. Most likely everyone here knows I run Fae Corps Publishing and I have been doing this in the background for a while now. I plan on talking clearly about the tools I use for publishing, and the way that each one works. Demystifying what I do. Is that to say that I will be making my own self unnecessary? No, because my experience is valuable. I just feel like so much of the process is made out to be harder than it needs to be.

I have been transparent about the way I feel about AI.

November has been a big deal for the writers for a long time. Fae Corps Publishing blog always has a PAD challenge. We usually do not put the energy in the novel writing end.

The situation with Nano has me upset.

Fae corps publishing will be doing a Fae 50k on the blog as well as the Pad. This is going to be me posting encouragement for the ones that are trying to do the daily word count. I will be posting an invitation to join the discord and Facebook writing group for those who are needing the community support. I usually do the Pad posts in October, at least I schedule them then. I am going to be starting to get the Fae 50k posts scheduled around then as well.

I will leave on the bottom of the post the upcoming calendar. I feel like that will help. As You can see this changes slightly each week. Things get adjusted because Authors are not ready or I get a book that I had promised space.

Forgotten Flowers

By

Patricia Harris

Faded blooms
Floating down stream
Forget me nots
Don’t mean anything.

When you promised forever
With flowers in your hand,
I believed you with no demand…
But here I sit with forgotten flowers
And forever but a dream.

FAQ

This kind of feels like a multiple update type of post.

  1. the House is perfect. a cute cabin with land for their chickens.  it is in their affordable price range and off the electric grid. It is not terribly far from me. There’s a lot more but I don’t want to speak too much about their stuff online.
  2. Backing up the files and the publication schedule, as well as dealing with life, has been making writing fall behind. This bothers me greatly. I realize that my life will settle in October, My computer is being replaced in October…and the publication schedule is what it is. But two of my issues will get settled in October. So I will be doing the PAD for both Patricia and Serena. and I am seriously considering doing at least some of Nano. Just not sure if I will be using the same word count goals as most do. I am thinking if I set up a challenge for just getting a daily word count in I will feel like I accomplished something.
  3. I may be adjusting the Fae Corps Publishing blog at the beginning of the new year. I am going to be going back to dealing with it for a while as we are not sure if my child is going to have the ability once they move for a while. I think I want to do some adjustments on the daily schedule. I have to think about it.
  4. I am going to be rearranging my house because I’m bringing my art studio inside. so I might be posting about that for a while. the old one doesn’t have electricity, so I am going to be using my child’s old room to have a safe place to create.

I think that’s all I have to say today. My life is currently in flux, so I am not sure if I can do anything that I have ideas for. I do know that I have to keep moving forward.

The Great Amazing Maxioff

By

Serena Mossgraves

They don’t make handcuffs like they used to. Magic was once a true skill, but anymore even a child could break free of the flimsy craftsmanship. Dale sat there mourning the days of vaudeville as he held the broken cuffs. He had planned this show for months, and replacing the cuffs would be the proverbial straw that broke the show. So many things had gone badly, he was beginning to doubt that he would even make opening night.
Stage magic was a dying art. He knew getting the audience would be difficult. Still he wanted desperately to try. With malfunctioning props though, he felt the doubts creeping in. ‘Just one show,’ he found himself silently wishing. ‘If only I can do just one perfect show! It would mean everything!’
From the darkness of the theatre, that he believed was empty, came the wheezy voice. At first he startled, afraid that he was imagining it. “And what do you offer, for the one perfect show?” Searching the seats, Dale was surprised to see a small wizened man sitting in the first row.
“Who are you, come closer! I thought myself alone. If I spoke, it was only for me. ” He clarified the point as if the thought was scandalous somehow. His mind decided that he had spoken the thought. It was after all the only way it could have been heard.
Laughter rang across the theatre as the man stepped up to the stage. “What’s a name matter, I asked a question. What would you give for your perfect show? Pretend that you imagined me, and then answer! You never know, perhaps the universe will hear you.” His crackling laugh roughened his voice, making it hard to understand.
Dale considered the question. He ran it over and over trying to figure out if he should answer or not. Finally, seeing no reason why he should not answer, blurted. “Anything. I would literally give anything.” The little man smiled.
“Granted!” The man vanished. Dale awoke with a start. The theatre was empty! Sitting next to him was the antique handcuffs he had been so lucky to find. He shook his head at the weirdness of dreams, and continued to rehearse. Opening night was but a day away.

Two days later….

The audience was excited. Word was the show the night before was perfect. All of the tricks had been masterful! The Great Amazing Maxioff (aka Dale) was a superb showman. The lights in the theatre lowered and the curtains were drawn… To display the corpse of the magician who had apparently passed on.

No, because my experience is valuable. I just feel like so much of the process is made out to be harder than it needs to be.

I listed the programs I use before in a previous post.

I am currently having issues with my pc. My go to pdf program glitched in the reinstall and my license is not working. I really don’t have the money to buy it again. So while I do the email chain to get the company to fix the issue, I still need to have a functional solution for pdf editing.

So I spent some time searching for a free option. I had been told that I can do some of my stuff in Libre draw which comes in the Libre office suite. I have found that one is true. Libre Draw will allow me to fix the covers and even do most of what I need to do.

I also found pdf gear. it is good for signing pdfs. it has some of the editing abilities I needed. it’s also free.

I don’t know if I will be using the program I had paid for again – I will not pay for it again so if I don’t get the problem fixed I will be just dropping it off my favorite list. I got several years of work from my purchase. So, if they can’t restore the license I won’t be that upset. I will just move on to completely freeware.

I will leave on the bottom of the post the upcoming calendar. I feel like that will help. As You can see this changes slightly each week. Things get adjusted because Authors are not ready or I get a book that I had promised space.

You Saved Me

By

Patricia Harris

You say that you feel
like you were a curse…
before you I was a soul
lost in the void.
I had no idea
what I should do
or who I was…

I had never seen
anyone else
remotely like me.
until you.

you saved me,
by introducing me
to who you are.
