Hours ticking shortly,
Quickly passing day.
Watching as the seconds
Tick tick tock away.
Old warped wood,
Brass fittings styles.
My pretty life control
Hanging on the wall.

Inktober prompt guarded

Here’s what came from my inktober today. The prompt was guarded. I do intend to write the poem… And I will try to get it shared today… But if I don’t then it will be up by Monday at the latest.

Graceful bulk
Through the sea,
Singing giant
Moving so easily.
Gentle beast,
With a nature sweet.
Peaceful creatures
Swimming with ease.

Haunted the prompts on tumblr and found two I liked by two different blogs. (Due to the fact that my blog does auto post… Tumblr is seeing these twice. Lol) Thought I would share with y’all.

Sorry for the delay on that poem. But it was just too much for my tired brain this morning.
I actually discussed with a fellow author/poet why we as creators need sleep. She said that there was not enough hours in the day and wondered why she needed sleep… My response : because without sleep you cannot make the thoughts. without the thoughts you cannot make the art and poetry and words. That is a sad. do not make the sad.
Well this week I have been making the sad. Way too little sleep and trying to do too much. My blog has been updated daily, I have been doing a poem daily, a drawing daily, and an Instagram challenge. I have added about 500 words to my latest children’s book (Attack of Shoe Mountain). I have done some work on the player’s guide for my gaming group. I have made some Christmas presents (resin earrings mostly) and a birthday present for my sister’s beautiful 25 year old daughter. And all of the other household and personal chores that come up daily. So as you can see I have been busy. I tried to keep up but sleep failed. It happens. But I am now caught up. I thank you all for your patience.

Due to a lot of lack of sleep over the last two nights, My brain is not in a good place for poetry. So I will post the poem after sleep has been achieved. Still here is the inktober offerings for day 11. Prompt: cruel.

About a week ago I asked for input on on the title of my next volume of poetry. The votes came in. So I am going to reveal the cover and the title together.

What do you think?

Precious

Beloved by one,
Obsessively.
Rubbed to shine,
Blindingly.
Simple rocks,
By others seen.
Precious stones
To shine and gleam.
No true need,
Desired though.
Precious things
Sentiment shown.
